You'd be amazed how easy it was to get a wedding venue on April the 1st. No waiting list or anything.

The hardest part was convincing the guests that it wasn't a hoax and we were actually getting married. One or two failed to make it and phoned us in the afternoon laughing about how they didn't fall for our joke.

They apologised when they saw the wedding pictures.

Also very handy for never forgetting your anniversary.

We've decided to wait until the house move in a few weeks until we buy the presents; in case it might be something useful we need instead

This year the traditional gift is made of wood.

I've scoured Google for some inspiration and really can't see the point in a carved wooden 'love spoon', a 'wine box with a picture on it' or a wooden pen and pencil set.

    Any ideas?

Taking her out for dinner tonight so she's letting me lounge around the house tomorrow and watch football streams.

She gave up smoking 9 years ago.

She reminds me of this a couple of times a week.

Wear nowt but one of those pouches, take some viagra and then once it's kicked in, invite her into the bedroom.
Just point downwards and shout, "Happy Anniversary Honey!"
Her favourite tipple and Chocolates by the bed optional.

An empty pizza box on your lap with a hole bang in the middle.

If it was a first date, a visit to the Cinema with an empty chocolate box with a hole in the middle would be a good way of breaking the ice. Not so good for a 5th anniversary though.

Not really practical as such but have you ever heard of Mouseman furniture?

Man called Robert Thompson started the business, makes hand crafted furniture etc. loads of other random stuff like trinket boxes and bowls/chopping boards...Really good quality, my Mam loves the stuff so my Dad gets her something pretty much every birthday and xmas.

Has a little mouse carved onto each piece, so mini-OT would probably like it as well, I know I did when I was little!

^^^ That's a link to the little trinkety stuff if you're just looking to get a little something, the furniture can be up to 10k so did the liberty of bypassing that for you!

Remember years back a massive billboard as I was heading into London advertising something and the catch line was "Renew his interest in carpentry" and someone had graffitied it with "... saw his head off".

    Laughed like a loon :)
