Yeah from what I've seen they only ever seem to get huge crowds when two of the big clubs play each other, still I'm sure the spectacle will be impressive. Perhaps the years of unbroken success led to some complacency among the Lyon fans, if I really get into the games I think my shouts of "ha'way" will probably seem a bit out of place...

Although not the most high profile league, the french league is packed with talent. We've ha out scouts over their alot this season, including pardew watching Montpelier captain mwiba is it. Looks a very capable player to me.

Yeah, he's been impressive, as have the whole team.

3 games left now, if they win them they are champions.

    Incredible season for them.

Absolutely mate, especially young lads, they take a lot of the young African lads, and they get well trained.

Lorient is a tiny club, but the roll call of players is unreal, they just get them to a level then shift them on, they are masters at it, that's why Arsenal started robbing them at 14!

About to kick of Lille, 3rd, current champions v PSG 2nd, 5 points behind Montpellier.

2 of the best attacking sides out there, Hazard, Gameiro, Payet, Nene...

Be a good game if your looking for some entertainment!

Do they all have 5 gears?

4 backwards and the 5th runaway?

I'm watching a re run of the twente v Ajax game at the minute like. Couple of transfer targets we are linked to playing in this one.

Watched that earlier mate, was a good game.

That Douglas you are linked with, looks a bit suspect on the turn, i'd be dubious!

Aye his temprement has seemed suspect to me when I have watched them at times, but if Carr has watched him then I trust his judgement on that one

Aye, he's not done bad for you Carr!

He's a ****ing unit mind, so maybe a good compliment to Colo, I'd fancy Sess against him though, or similar players in the league.

It's a tricky position at the minute though because anyone we sign won't be a garunteed starter as I suspect colo will be paired with taylor again next season. Can't believe we are where we are in the league playin with Williamson at the back. He does a job but is only just above average on his better days.

Aye, you desperately need cover back there, Williamson, it's not just lack of pace, hie entire reaction system is painful.

He's a solid enough tackler etc, it's more response times!

Love watching the French League - Might not have big crowds but some of the youngsters coming through are frightening!

Having said that, I was watching Genk v Anderlecht Friday night I think it was. Good game, but for two of the top sides in Belgium their passing and defending was shocking!

Aye, I can't get into the Belgian, i've tried.

Liege were good to watch 2 years back, but that team got decimated (Fellaini, Defour, Witzel..)

I'm enjoying the French at the minute, you're right, they bring through an unreal amount of young talent, partly because of the African influx, and then move them on.

Montpellier only need 1 win now, amazing story, after Lille turned PSG over last night.

    Mush

Did you have that bet with Rooney?

I'm starting to get nervous now, bunch of drunks just down from my office block lobbing stuff at some poor students flat who's obviously gone out and left a United flag on his balcony, good old Greater Manchester Police, never there when needed, just stand and watch when they are there (riots) anyway.

I've got into French football quite a bit recently too, seems to be a lot of talent emerging from France over the last few years, seems more than normal or that may be just because I'm paying more attention to French football. I must say, as much as Giroud has been a revelation for Montpellier, he's not the £30m player his chairman thinks he is (didn't he quote Arsenal £30m?). He'd be a decent buy for a team like Ath Madrid, although with service coming from John Utaka his chances are probably quite limited. I rate that Cabella kid though, he seems clued up for a youngster.

I am though, on the Hazard bandwagon, the guy's just wonderful, heard United and City had scouts (Vieira and Fergie's brother) there at the weekend watching him, if he signs for City I think I'll probably cry for a little while.

As you know MoNsMush you know I like yourself take a great deal of interest in foreign football.

As you have said there is a large amount of young talent playing in Ligue 1 and we should certainly have our scouts out there watching the games.

MoN has already said that he has been abroad to watch a game and maybe with the fair play rules coming in and most likely not having the amount of money to spend (both transfer fee's and wages) that he did at Villa the foreign leagues could be a real attraction at its obvious you get better value for money.

Aye it's on Terry, so i'll be with you boys all the way tonight!

Obviously, I agree with you on Eden Hazard, he is a breathtakingly talented boy, an absolute matchwinner, incredible control and pace, and still a teen, he is every millimetre a United, Real, Barca, Inter AC level player.

I disagree with you on Giroud though, I think £30million may seem steep, but put that lad in a side with supply and he will score shedloads.

His technique on both feet is good (the left being outstanding), he is very subtle and clever in the air, and he is incredibly agile to boot.

He's a smashing player, and there are very few like him in the game at the minute.

Cabella is tidy, but needs to develop, Belhanda is a stunning player, absolutely stunning, again, he could play right at the top.

Some real talent there, as we've all agreed.
