Just goes to show how pointless it is listening to rumours and debating what's going to happen. Harry going to England, Brendan to Spurs? What a load of crap. Probably just the bookies way of getting cash of people. LOL.

Please don't start any other threads in where Brendan is going. They're pointless.

I like the sound of this as a Swans fan. Hodgson for England though? He needs time to work on his squad and gain their confidence. At international level you need a motivator who is also a shrewd tactician, and I don't know if that's Hodgson. I don't know if it's Redknapp either, mind...

if you look at harry's cv and roy's cv then you can see why they will go for roy, he has all the experience of managing international sides and done a good job with the swiss team. so i hope everything is done and dusted sometime today and we all know where we stand, they have the right man for the job between harry and roy...<ok>

he's a fantastic manager. harsh to judge him as a failure at liverpool because there was no money and he had to bring in second rate players... whether he's suited to dealing with a childish bunch of egos like an england dressing room remains to be seen but i think he's a better manager than redknapp personally.

I like Hodgson too. He doesn't have Harry's baggage,is well respected, and will do an O.K. job.

Am I interested in the England team, not one jot.

I have a lot of respect for Roy who will bring integrity and international experience to the table. However, does he have the man management and motivational skills of Harry? Personally, given the depth of talent England possess, I think the biggest trick is to get them believing - they obviously have the ability, it just needs to be brought on to the pitch.

In this case, I believe that Harry easily takes it but it looks like the PC candidate has been chosen. Good news for us though.

Agree Ivor. Having said that, he had an immediate impact at West Brom and they went on an outstanding run... the problem will be finding out if he can do the same thing with a bunch of players whose collective egos are a lot bigger than those at the Hawthorns?

I firmly believe Woy has the job. As usual with the FA they have gone for the sensible option. Saying that i do think he is a good manager. But i struggle to think that he will be able to inspire the players.
He has been chosen as he does have prior international experience, He will be safe in front of the cameras and he is the cheapest option.

Only time will tell if he is the right option.

It will be a disaster if you ask me, no way is RH going to motivate those overrated egos in the England camp, many of whom are well past their sell by date! Vetch nice one, Rosie will move on to bungs more lucrative (Champions League I believe) The price of dog food just went up.............. <laugh>.....<ok>

thats my point, he's got to deal with the ferdinand terry crap, as well as egos like cole, lampard etc. you'd think they'd just shut up and do the job they are paid to do but they think to highly of themselves to do that....

woy is a manager who coaches and drills players to death and i suspect most of the players wont like that, redknapp would just lick arses and play all his favourites like lampard, ferdinand, parker etc. he's got allies in the media who have blown his trumpet for the past few months but i'm glad they didnt get their way tbh...

    nothing confirmed yet though <ok>

the trouble at liverpool is they wanted kenny as their boss (why ill never know) he was a fantastic player and a liverpool legend but as a top manager then he is way down the bottom. Roy is a safe option and harry is a manager who can mix with the players better. I think they have the right man and the cheaper man and resent results and the court case must have gone against harry with the 4 man selection committee......roy of course might not want the job and the baggage that goes with it and some of the back pages have been less than complamentry to him and the phone in talk shows. from a selfish point of view i hope he accepts the job but nothing surprises me in football, lets hope we will hear soon.....

I think that's a bit of a harsh comparison but after all that nonsense at the 2010 world cup you'd think they would try to get someone decent in this time...i'll be happy if we make the round of 16 of the euros.

Who knows, maybe he'll do a decent job...his CV isn't bad. I'm nervous though, what with his experience at Liverpool (although to be fair they were undergoing a period of transition, and he didn't have the benefit of Suarez)

....there is no round of 16 in the Euros. You go straight from the group phase to the quarter finals.
