A FUMING businessman and 15 golfing pals were kicked out of a hotel — so Man United could relax there ahead of tonight’s crunch derby with Manchester City.

Outraged Dominic Warne booked the four-star rooms five months ago — only to be given 48 hours’ notice that Wayne Rooney and his team-mates would be getting them instead.

Sir Alex Ferguson decided to whisk his players to the swanky Vale Resort near Cardiff for three days. Dominic said: “All reservations other than a wedding were bumped.”

He and his chums were among those switched to a hotel four miles away, although they were allowed back to use the golf course.

Two other parties of guests were also ousted.

The resort’s sales and marketing manager Paul Beddoe insisted: “We have provided oodles of compensation for any disruption.”

Tonight’s showdown at City’s Etihad Stadium comes as the Blues trail Premier League leaders United by just three points in the race for the title.

Pairs of tickets were last night changing hands for £4,750.

More than 600 police will be on duty and an alcohol exclusion zone aims to prevent drunken trouble.

    Roo are the tops

WAYNE Rooney has sold more replica football shirts than any other Premier League star, it was revealed yesterday.

The England and Manchester United ace is followed as fans’ favourite by Liverpool’s Steven Gerrard and Chelsea’s Fernando Torres.

Former Red Devils maestro Cristiano Ronaldo and Chelsea’s Frank Lampard complete the top five.

The list was compiled by shirt branding firm Sporting iD from sales over the past 20 seasons. Director Rob Thayne said: “Wayne’s in a league of his own.”

OH TO BE A TICKET TOUT.
