The confident assertion of F1Times.com is that the new sponsor is American low-cost airline jetBlue. please log in to view this image
I wonder now the FIFA fair play rules are in affect, Chelsea and City will start to invest in F1 teams instead...
What a load of crap. I couldn't think of two teams more different, the last player Chelsea brought through their academy was John Terry 14 years ago, they spend huge amounts on other club's players. Sauber's entire budget would probably only just match what Chelsea paid for Fernando Torres. At least Sauber have another sponsor.
Could see their car looking like an F1 version of this: please log in to view this image Only sponsored by a crap team.
The F1 correspondent from The Times thinks there's no cash involved, it's just a mutual advertising arrangement - hence the claims of never-before-seen ground-breaking innovation.
Or could open the doors to the many sponsors Chelsea have? What chance of Samsung appearing on Saubers in the future? Doubt it will put off sponsors as a few have suggested. There will be individuals who'll say ' I won't support Sauber anymore now they are linked with a football team I think are ****e', but in the world of commercialism they take a slightly more rounded view and the exposure they get from the football link would be of huge benefit.
As far as PR speak go, that quote from Ron Gourney was about as cringeworthy as it gets! Why not just say, we think we can both make some money out of it, and leave it at that!
seems a pointless deal for both parties. why would sauber need advertising at Chelsea's football ground, considering they don't make anything, and why would Chelsea need advertising on an F1 car, because they are different sports and will thus not attract more fans.
I smell bullshit. a chelsea deal to advertise on a F1 car for free? I thought it was supposed to be a huge investment? why would sauber give away prime space for nothing!!
This might be the Murdoch influence! If you see a Man u or city logo appearing on a Lotus then that surely is the case.
