I am, and West London Willy if that's who you're referring to is still posting as far as I know. (Although you might be on ignore .) I ain't bothered if you disagree with me or not, I'll continue to repeat my truths and see how they hold up. I couldn't care less about changing your point of view to be fair. I'm challenging my own to see what's out there. You are so badly wrong on this. Ferdinand's form/ability fair enough; attack that if you will. But to drag this whole incident into the mix and BLAME it on him is so far off the mark it's not true. Have to get to bed for work, but stick your response up and we'll get back into it tomorrow.
Your opening post on this thread is absolutely unbelieveable. I can't believe an intelligent man wrote that heap of bull. Anton Ferdinand has done absolutely nothing wrong in this matter.
Answer the questions you nut! What has AF done wrong? Did he complain to the police? Did he make the police pass it on to the CPS? Did he force the CPS to take Terry to court? See you on here tomorrow hoping for answers and a United victory.
A couple more to add to Telford's questions. Did AF force the FA to strip Terry of the England captaincy? Did he lean on the CPS to delay the trial until after the Euro's? Did he call the press about an alleged bullet being sent to him at QPR's training ground? Jesus. I won't deny that he has been affected by the whole sorry affair. But in my opinion, his form's not been any better or worse than the rest of our defenders - hell, the rest of the team's performances this season. Very patchy, and to a certain extent typical of a lot of players that go to a team that's just been promoted.
Rich people are fair game for racial abuse, is this what you're saying swords? I hope Terry gets charged, and heavily. The whole saga might take us one step closer to stamping out racism in football- people need to realise there are consequences to brandishing their bigoted views. This man is the CAPTAIN of England, he's a role model, he cannot be allowed to call a fellow professional a "black c*nt" and get away with it. AF has done absolutely nothing wrong- i hope he's an example to people experiencing similar abuse that they don't have to take it. I think it elevates our club rather than "dragging it through the mud" or whatever you said.
Swords, can't believe you were worried about DT assuming your identity and damaging your reputation. You are digging a hole that your reputation may never recover from. You are one of the top posters on here, honest, funny, challenging. But on some things you are way out of step with 21st century London - racism ( which is what we are talking about here) and homophobia ( your references to Stephen Fry being gay are cringingly unfunny and old fashioned, make even the yellow and green flying vermin seem sophisticated ) may be acceptable, or even the norm in Dublin ( though not in my experience and I'd be interested in other Irish Rs comments), but over here we've grown out of it ( well most of us) and the reason this thread has gone on so long is it upsets us seeing one of our own stuck in this time warp, especially you. You admit that your distance from HQs and not being a West Londoner makes it difficult for you to understand the strength of feeling on inter club rivalries, I reckon something similar is going on here. Give it up mate.
He was easy to spot, especially in the second half when QPR's end thinned out. They were joking about it on Talksport later. No one want the Chelski to win Champions League, let's face it
I don't follow this Swords. Anton has done nothing wrong in relation to Terry that I have heard of - by all accounts it is Anton, and his family, that are the victims. His performance for us probably deteriorated after the game in October due to all threats he took and I for one felt he should have been given a rest in the winter, but forgetting yesterday when everyone was under par, he has picked himself up the last few weeks - all credit to him for that!
Sorry you feel that way Gentlemen. If I have offended anyone by my comments I apologize. They weren't meant to. Racism of any sorts is despicable. Truly revolting. I just think, put in context, this whole furore has gotten totally out of proportion. I appreciate the above posters arguing with me but without losing the rag.
Fair play Swords. We're all on the same side when it comes to racism, just different opinions on how this specific situation should have been dealt with. Although your initial argument angered me, you've expressed yourself better as the tread has gone on. (Though I still disagree 100%)
SB, I am from within 5 miles of Swords. His comments are not the norm. Ireland has become a mili racial country in the past 10-15 years. We are still coming to terms with having such a large non-Irish community and I am sure there is some racism. Swords, fair play to you for apologising.
Just think, this freak has the nerve to other people theres something wrong with them. He needs to take a look in the mirror. Can you ignore people on here as Im starting to think he has a sub 70 IQ.
Cheers Finglas, and as always Swords, you at least read opposing views and respond with dignity. Good on you. Flyer, you are beyond hope.
Its pretty clear theres only 1 person beyond hope in this thread and hes just gone on my ignore list. Feel free to do the same to me.
While you are entitled to your opinion swords, maybe you should stop for one second and realise that everybody strongly disagrees with you on this subject. We can't all be wrong. There is an old saying that 'if you look around and can't see the idiot in the room, then you need to start looking closer to home", stop digging a hole for yourself. Your posts are usually excellent, i always look out for them no matter how nutty they may be. In this case your post was just not necessary.
If John Terry made racist remarks, he should be punished to the full extent of whatever laws cover this. I think that's a completely separate issue from how much of a £$#@ Anton Ferdinand is. He's a poor player and a poor character. I think its completely fair to point that out. But just because Anton is a complete tool, I wouldn't make the mistake of assuming Terry must be innocent. The more obvious conclusion is that we'd better off without either of them in the game.
