Think that might be our best hope, Chelsea are just finding form, I'm fearing if we play like we did yesterday it could be 6 or 7 nil.

Chelsea are nothing special under Di Matteo. They got a lucky win at Stamford Bridge where Barca managed to miss a hatful of chances, that's the only good result they've got. They did alright in the Nou Camp but it was nothing special, they would've been beaten by 4 or 5 had Messi scored the pen. They got lucky against Wigan with 2 offside goals. Stoke they scraped past 1-0 at home. The other wins were against Aston Villa where they managed to chuck a 2 goal lead against them, and this is a Villa side who have been **** in attack this season. They got two lucky late goals there and beat QPR, who are really **** away from home. That's about it. Every decent team they've played they've struggled against. Fulham (a) = draw, Arsenal (a) = draw, Tottenham (h) = draw.

I think you all need some grounding to be honest! you all got far too carried away with us winning and started thinking we were actually better than Tottenham, Arsenal and Chelsea. Well I'm here to tell you we are not. I always said 7th was the celing so the fat we are going to finish 6th is a good this.

Give it a rest! I'm a Newcastle fan but I'm fully aware of where we are at the moment. I'm more than happy with 6th and yesterdays result was needed. We need to focus on how we can establish ourselves as a top ten side and that's going to be harder each season in my opinion on our financial grounds.

Yeah I think the biggest test is being competitive in Europe (whichever league it is) whilst maintaining a decent league finish. The likes of Stoke and Fulham have struggled to do it but with sensible investment I think we can do it, personally I'd say Top8 has got to be the target.

Financially though I'd say we're in a strong position. We've got such a good scouting team and MA has shown us he will not be taken for a mug in the transfer market. If we buy a player for £5, he has a great season or two and then sell him for £15m then we can buy another 3 of his quality.

I have great faith in our transfer policy and would hate for us to go for 'marque' signings like we used to (eg. Drogba, Berbatov). We have to accept that we may very well be a stepping stone club but so long as they're performing and we continue investing as we have then the future is very bright for us, especially with the FFP rules coming in, I'd say we're arguably in a stronger position than most to establish ourselves towards the right end of the table. <ok>

They'll be afraid, they'll be very afraid.

Actually we do quite well at the Bridge and I'm looking forward to it.

Only wish it was a traditional 3:00 pm ko on a Saturday instead of us getting home as the milkman is doing his rounds.

Hopefully Saturday was a blip, a win vs Chelsea and 4th is back on. I predicted with 4 games to go:

    3rd - Arsenal - 74
    4th - Spurs - 67
    5th - Chelsea - 66
    6th - Newcastle - 66

Arsenal have dropped points since then and so have we. My revised prediction would be the same positions but Arsenal would be on 72 and we'd be on 63. 1 more point for us I'm afraid!!

I'd be extremely happy and amused if we finished 5/6th, Spurs finished 4th but Chelsea won the CL.

Means we wont feel gutted because 4th wouldn't have even got us CL anyway, and we'd be able to lol at Spurs not getting into the CL, and we'd be happy for getting into Europa League.

If it helps, Chelsea weren't amazing today, sure they were good but it wasn't a magnificent performance or anything, it wasn't exactly hard to put 6 past that abysmal performance

Can't be. Rokk came from Ouston and they don't have TV's up there so he wouldn't know about Obi.
