Early kick offs just kill the game IMO, either make it 3pm, 5pm or not at all It was a good finish. I think Mackie did well, he's impressed me a lot this season.
'my cousin left at half time, but he's in a bit of a depressed mood with QPR, most people around me stayed but my chelsea supporting mate said the upper tier was pretty empty' Leaving at half-time is pretty poor
I tend to agree but I also think if you've paid £55 to watch a team almost certain to get trounced you have a right to sing/not sing, stand/sit, leave at half-time or stay until the stewards kick you out.
I didn't think the atmospher was that bad. I thought that Chelsea's ground was quite good (i was in another part this time) and they should stay there rather than get a souless new bowl. They did sing a John Terry song and i reckon that's what was heard on tv. Thought the 'Were going to Germany, your going to Barnsley' was funny but sadly real fans like us wouldn't mind going to barnsley. For me i met a few old school Chelsea in the pub pre game that were ok but at the ground it was like being in another country, full of tourists. Can't imagine any of them ever going to Barnsley. We never get a result there!
that's what I was thinking..at least we would go to Barnsley!! Outside the stadium I heard their 'fans' saying things like 'proper scumbags' and 'they're as bad as west ham' at us
Trips to places like Barnsley are the good thing about going down. I've missed the Palace 'ultras', we'll have a terrace at Peterborough, we can take the piss at Watford, we can play massive Leeds and massive Forest, though it's a shame Billy Davies isn't about any more in all his fist-pumping glory.
We might meet up with that old Bristol City manager who is at Sheffield. The ones around me were calling us 'filth' and 'scum fans' which made me smerk. Chelsea has changed so much no wonder they don't recognise it as a derby. ManU is a bigger game now. Lost all their history with 'Romans b#####d children'. In football terms they are a million miles away from us now. Football has changed so much since the 80's and 90's and you can hardly recognise some clubs.
If true then I'm sorry to hear that, so long as your not Tottenham or West Ham usually it's fine when you leave the ground fans tend to get carried away when they win though and we have our fair share of idiots at Chelsea. Man U have always been a big game to everyone to be honest and obviously West Ham, Arsenal, Spuds are to us for obvious reasons. As you say football has changed it's all part of the evolution, who'd of thought 20 years ago City would go back to being United's biggest rivals after it was Liverpool for so long.
I was lower shed skinman, I loved the fat Frank songs when he came over to take corners. '' Your the face of Pukka Pies, Your the face of Pukka Pies. '' I've had a bit of abuse on facebook from my Chelsea mates, but hardly any of them go anymore. So they're sitting at home in front of the telly giving it to me while I'm at a game in their ground? Bit strange and sad if you ask me. Your right though, a large amount of their support are plastics and tourist who have no idea of the history involved. They just see us as a bunch of unruly ruffians.
