    Shinji Kagawa

Dortmund director of sport Michael Zorc

This guy would fit in and is not going to cost that much.

I can tell you that their plan A is Marco Reus, no idea who they've got lined up as plan B, maybe they're after Rosicky?

Anyway, Shinji Kagawa. Yes please. Brilliant player, good vision, good passer. great with the ball at his feet, and cool as a cucumber. Perfect for Arsenal.

Also on a Dortmund theme, one paper (it may have been the telegraph) had us linked with Robert Lewandowski. Good striker, would be a more than capable back-up for Robin.

If we got Kagawa, then there would be no need for Goetze too.

If he came to us that is. The story in the Sun was linking him to Utd

He'd be a flop at United. He's not a 4-4-2 player, he plays in behind the striker, or on the wing, if he has his head screwed on correctly, he would see that Arsenal is a perfect fit for him.

He would flourish in that role at Arsenal and would create lots of chances.

It's a role designed for a player like him, something we really lack. Either him or Goetze (and Grosskreutz to a lesser extent) would pull it off perfectly. Imagine how many goals RvP would score with top quality service being provided.

It could be a marriage made in heaven. I think we've really missed a top quality attacking midfielder this season. In parts, Rosicky, Benayoun, Arteta and Walcott have done well, but I think we need to sign a proper playmaker like Fabregas was. If we don't get Goetze, then I'd be really happy with Kagawa.

It's all well and good getting a passing guru, we need a man who can move around, cause defences problems, a bit like Na$ri, but with better vision. I think Kagawa, Goetze, Lucas (sao Paolo), Eriksen are suitable.

i remember seeing many tweets after some arsenal shareholders meeting or some such saying we would have a striker and a midfielder signed by June. Podolski has now come, and I thought it would be M'Vila coming, but maybe kagawa

On another Bilbao note, someone mentioned Markel Susaeta. To me, it's Hazard and Gervinho all over again. Everyone knows Muniain is miles better, we get linked to the cheaper option. (We could have had Hazard, yet ended up with Gerv)

  19. dont write of Gervinho just yet - he actually started the season well, and if he can work on his finishing he will be valuable to us next year. Beats players for fun and we need that.

Agreed <ok> He started really well and looked like a revelation. I think his form and confidence dipped after the ACN - and as you mention he needs to work on his finishing, but he could be a really good player if he gets some form back.
