I think a draw would suit us best. What do you guys think?

Bolton is under pressure, so I expect them to give all at home against Spurs and can see them doing well.
Chelsea and Newcastle could go either way, a draw would be brilliant.
But Chelsea have gained lots of confidence after getting past Barca and a 6-1 against QPR will have given them even more of that.

But without looking at the others, we have to make sure that we beat Norwich.

I think Chelsea will win, and Spurs will draw.

  5. I want Chelsea to win - not because i prefer them to Newcastle, but it means that they stop Newcastle gettign to us in 3rd.

Lets remember if Chelsea catch us and pass us, its not a major disaster - if Newcastle or Spurs do and Chelsea win the CL then it most certainly is.

The best result for us is draws all round but we have to beat Norwich.

WBA could be without a manager by the time we play them. A bit of an advantage for us.

  8. The one thing I am still nervous about is our loss of form at this stage of the season - we've only picked up 8 points from the last 18 and we are damn lucky those teams around us have all dropped points too. I am still of the view we will need to win our last 2 to place 3rd. 4th will be good enough if Chelsea dont win the CL OR its Chelsea who take 3rd.

The problem with a Newcastle Chelsea draw is that it leaves the door open for Spurs. God forbid if they snatched 3rd, we were 4th, and Chelsea won the CL. THE nightmare scenario.

Spurs have not won a single away game in 2012. They have two away games coming up. And Kevin Davies has come into form just at the right time, that guy loves to play Spurs. If they drop points and we beat Norwich at home, then their needs to be some dramatic GD swing and us to get beat by WBA, with Spurs winning their last two games.

Chelsea still have Liverpool to play at Anfield. Only us, out of the top seven have won there. So, basically Liverpool raise their game when the big teams come to town. But with the Cup final days before, it's a hard game to judge. I think a possible draw there.

  11. Form goes out the window somewhat SJW at times like this. Spurs know they have 3 games to win - 3 cup finals. Given who there playing its not unreasonable to assume the pick up 9 points (they played pretty well today). If they do we need 2 wins.

Played well against a team that simply refused to come out of their own half despite needing to pick up points. You say form goes out of the window, yet you are nervous about our loss of form at this stage of the season. How does that work?

  13. Good point. I guess our form has gone out of the window already - we were flying until the Wigan game... its actually 2 points out of the last 9. Hope we can approach the last two as cup finals and be really up for it. Norwich at home will be tougher than we think.

Norwich have lost three in a row, and got brushed aside by Liverpool at Carrow Road. Thought that was a poor result, really. I think we will beat Norwich. Start with the same team, thought Yossi and Gervinho looked lively on the wings.

What's funny is if man city didn't win the lottery we would probably be fighting for 2nd!

  16. Yes Yossi and Gervinho played well - I just wish Gervinho could shoot! His finishing is woeful. Really needs to work on that over the summer.

Its in our hands. I'm afraid - 'cos we always seem to fail when we can clinch a step forward.......

Mind over matter - raising our game - getting up for it - mental strength. Call it what you like, but we are so often short of it.
