Sandro was excellent today, particuarly in the first 45 minutes. God only knows what Blackburn were all about, a poor side indeed. What a decent bloke and a decent goalkeeper like Paul Robinson has done to end up playing with that shower, is a real issue. Pedersen is a shadow of the player we were once interested in and Yakobu is a talent wasted with them. Going back to Robbo, a touch of class yet again when throwing his gloves to the Spurs fans at the end. Top Man indeed.
Evening Spurcat, yes I thought the first 45 mins Spurs showed a real intent almost anger, it was great to see. After Sandro was sick he was understandably a little quieter but only a little. Second half became a little bit sideways but hopefully that will get the lads back on track. There was certainly no signs of the tiredness that some have been talking about.

You're right, there was a real intent from the off and it was good to see. I am hoping this win will kick start our season again. For all our good work today, it's still not right for me up front, as for all our possession in their half, we really should have created more. But as you say, the signs of tiredness were not there today and I remain optimistic of our chances of getting that CL spot.

I have to agree with you about us upfront. For all the possesion and this goes for most of the season we do seem to create fewer clear cut chances than the other top teams. There's days i watch Ade and think he is unplayable and then other times (quite often this season) his touch really is heavy. What i will say about today even if it was against awful opposition Luka and VDV were looking very much sharper. I dont know if you saw Luka's reaction to the first goal today also. It certainly looked like it really meant something and that there was a real desire and passion in his eyes. We can all live in hope that he stays because there is no doubting what he offers. Anyway good to get back to winning ways and roll on Bolton wed. Oh and what a quite remarkable strike from Walker....I will enjoy MOTD this eve watching that again!

Despite Spurs having one their best PL seasons, we've been above Chelsea and the Goons for months, how is that not improvement? The nit picking over a few lost games is tragic, considering the influences on our season. Hindsight is a lovely thing, and i think you'll find the majority are sick of posters like you that think they know it all, but continually show themselves to be great big whinging tarts, droning cluelessly, getting in the way of decent debate.

Dos Santos., Fair comments. I think we are missing a young Defoe or a fit Saha or even a fresh Berbatov, someone with their ability in and around goal. Spurs have no young, fit, hungry strickers. So we will be forever playing well but woe-ing chances. Ade looks a bit tired, having completed almost every Prem game since joining Spurs.
Also Modric needs to be assisted by runners and attack minded players up ahead of him., When he gets that, we will see him at his best, but far too often these days he is forced into short 'tippy tappy'...'get no where'...'waste of time' passes or the 'long diagonal' ball out to Lennon.

Pointing to being ahead of them for 25 games is meaningless - we need to be above them after 38 games for actual bragging rights.
You might notice I've been having decent debate in this thread with posters other than you. So who is it that's really getting in the way of decent debate here?

You're saying that Ashley Cole has played 200 minutes more than Walker as some proof that rotation isn't needed? Erm, Chelsea have played six more games than Spurs this season (and are guaranteed to finish having played eight more), yet Cole has played 200 minutes extra...which is the equivalent of a little under two and a half games? That averages out as him playing 44 out of 55, to Walker's 42 out of 49 (before yesterday, that is - just add 90 more to each), still indicating Cole has been rested more often.
Also, you may notice we rotated the squad yesterday, with Sandro starting in place of Parker in a 4-4-1-1, rather than alongside him as Harry tries to give Sandro games whilst playing favourites and keeping Parker in the team and messing with the system to do so. So you can **** off with your talk that we don;t need to rotate your squad, because you're the one trolling this thread.

I was as glad as you to see Sandro in for Parker, those two are ideal for rotation purposes, if only a few other key positions had such strong competition...thanks for pointing it out though!

Harry's mentality is that he's managing 11 players + four, the four being Defoe, Dawson, Sandro and Kranjcar - which works for teams with smaller squads (for example, West Ham and Portsmouth) where the rest of the squad is padded out with youngsters, but we don't have a small squad.
Look at teams such as Man Utd, Chelsea, or Arsenal - their mentality is managing 16 players + five. In our case, that would be Friedel; Walker, King/Gallas, Kaboul, Benny; Lennon, Modric, Parker, Bale; VDV, Adebayor; Dawson, Sandro, Kranjcar, Defoe, Huddlestone; Cudicini, Pienaar, Bassong, Pav/Saha, Livermore
What's gone so wrong is our squad isn't managed this way, leading to some players getting frustrated at a lack of games - Bassong, Pavluychenko, Corluka, Pienaar - whilst others needing a rest.
He really got it wrong in the Europa League when, due to injries to some of the squad players, he went straight to the reserves and youth players, yet played a whole bunch of them out of position (Townsend was playing left back in one game, Jake Nicholson in another) - yet he maintained that players were rotated in that competition to prove Corluka wrong, even though that competition was six months ago.

More importantly, he stopped trying to keep Parker happy yet give Sandro game time and play them both, which congested our midfield.
Come to think of it, it's been clear that King has been struggling lately, so why did he never drop King and give Nelsen a couple of games? He bought in Nelsen for that purpose, yet when the need arose he didn't - because he's been reluctant to drop players if they're not performing up to the standard expected until the Blackburn game. The defence and midfield seemed to find their second wind with a couple of necessary changes to the formation and shape they are used to, rather than the system being changed yet the same players labouring on through it.

Would it not be fair to suggest that that evens itself out by Walker staying indoors 6 more times than AC. You said originally it was a stupid comment, why, AC had to get up and go and play football, for however long, it doesn't matter, its still not a days rest like Walker would have had however you want to cut it. I'm also aware KW has had 90 mins than AC, but there is also 10 years between them!

Now I did keep a particular eye on this at the start of the season as we were playing less than others, and I thought we might take longer to get going because you need matches after pre season. As the season progressed like I said, there were a couple of occasions where there was 10 days between PL games, yet the others played midweek in europe. The 10 day period between two games is as good as a rotation rest. Have a look yourself on the beeb spurs resluts page, all the dates are there, and you see can how infrequent the games were, meaning they were used sparingly early in the season, so it would be reasonable to expect a push in the latter part, that hasn't happened and I don't know why, but can you see now that the very idea of resting in the period you want games from them is daft. I'd put the slump down more to other factors. However this is all a bit moot now, because Kyle looked fresh as a daisy yesterday, as did everyone else, in fact all the signs were good.
