I agree with what you're now saying LDL. But if you and I knew about these occurences before hand, why those it appear that Harry didn't ? and we're not the ones being paid mega bucks to Manage Spurs,.
However Harry did do a 'fantastic job' and has raised the bar here at Spurs but he has become distracted and I'm going to suggest that any distracted Manager in football at this level can not do a fastastic job.

seriously are you Harry in disguise?

as for 3 players in the PL team of the year..yes it means we have some good individuals who prior to January got recognition from thier fellow pros....but seriously are you suggesting that that is enough to keep fans of some clubs satisfied? i.e Spurs fans? is that what will be the shining beacon of our season or is this 'implosion' of form the bigger picture? whilst the rest around us are busy fighting in cup finals or getting momentum just when it counts? but we should laud over the fact that we got 3 players in the PFA list...all 3 who are incidently burnt out..and one is making noises of pastures anew possibly?

a CL place indeed is still in grasp........thanks to early form and the failure of those around us....but our record in the last 9 or so games is far from CL/top4 challenging form...far from it..and Spurs fans refuse to let any of that mask the truth with regards to form and our future...it is easy being the 'glass half full' kind as you look in...and on top of that as you look in being a fan of a succesful team...i mean with the amount of success United have had over the years..it baffles me that any United fan could complain about any match they lose in the next 10 years considering the success over the last 20...however if you lose to city i can guarantee you that United fans will have alot to say.

Hi, long time lurker, finally registered because this can't go undisputed. This a myth started by Harry himself.

ONE of the best Spurs sides in the last 50 years, ok. THE best, no way.

The best side I've personally seen is Keith Burkinshaw's in the early 80's. In 4 years he won us 2 FA cups, the UEFA cup, and finished 4th twice. And that was when those cup competitions actually meant something.

David Pleat's team in 1987 were going for the domestic treble (until we screwed it up in typical Spurs style - finished 3rd, threw away the League cup semi-final against Arsenal, lost the FA cup final against Coventry).

Indeed, for most of the 80's, until the George Graham era (and Irving Scholar screwing up our club), Spurs were the top London team.

I'd also put Venables side with Gazza and Lineker up there. One FA cup and a 3rd place finish is still better than Harry's record.

And Martin Jol deserves a mention of course.

Harry spouts this rubbish about us doing nothing in the last 50 years to make his own achievements look better. That's what Harry is always about, making himself look good and quick with the excuses when things go wrong (Carlos Tevez...lol). The way he talks we were mid-table since 1961. It's just not true, and it's disrespectful to people like Burkinshaw who were far better managers than he'll ever be.

Like it <ok> and welcome! Today's world is expert on hype, high on style and low on substance. This current side is POTENTIALLY the best but we are yet to see it. Even when we were on form earlier this season I still don't think we played to the limit that is possible with this side. In fact the early success could well be why we are underachieving now.

<laugh> wrong again I'm afraid, you continue to say AC has had an easier time, I then show more apps proving you wrong, instead of just accepting it, no, you then fanny about saying minutes are more important and representative, when quite blatantly in front you with some elementary adding up we see AC has played 4015 and Walker 3804. Yet you went to the lengths of writing how many hours and extra games Cole has played a few posts ago, you even 'bolded' it! <laugh> is that statement now a load of bollocks? :) You posted the incorrect figures off my link and make that my fault, how typical of your generation to blame his tools when the tool is you for not checking, its up to an author to make sure his "raw data" is accurate! :). I even prewarned of the odd app error! Apart from that, I watch enough football to know I've seen AC more times than 'you' said, yes thats right 'you', showing your lack of awareness of such matters.

I don't understand! <laugh> classic utterance from the Black Knight out of Monty Python. The above, plus your insistance of rotating with poor replacements is evidence enough of how little you know about football fullstop, never mind rotation. Some of the players you've put forward have been for sale over 2 years, and no-ones interested (have a little think why that might be perhaps) yet you think putting them in PL games is a good idea, the rest of the division doesn't...but you do...ok!

You constantly claim I completely oppose rotation when I've said a few of our players could have had better time management, we all know that, so that means I don't agree with Harry completely, another silly statement from you. Its just not been necessary imo in the extreme you insist it is this season, that is all I've ever said, this season, because our first 11 have had no European games. So not a complete block out, its called somewhere in the middle incase you've not heard it before.

You're a regurgitator who puts a twist on things hoping no-one will spot it...well I have, nothing wrong with that, just expect to be slapped down now and again if you stray into territory you don't know enough about, so please stick to what you're good at, posting hilariously put together teamsheets and the rambling that goes with them...they're one of the highlights of my week! :)

    <cheers>

Are you bored and trying to get a reaction, or are you just stupid?

You don't build a squad of 25 players who should be in the first team, because that causes all manner of hassle as 14 of them won't be starting a game every week, as well as one player getting more games as a similar player in that position over the space of a season. For that reason, you need a first team, good cover for the keeper, as well as up front and at centre back, and after that you just need players who can do a job for a few games and not complain about being far down the pecking order because they know it's their job to steady the ship for a few games, or even a few minutes. That's what youth team players are used for - or would be, if Harry didn't loan them out en masse in the foolish belief that our first team squad wouldn't be knackered come March/April for a second season in a row.

And which players are those? Go on, name them.

Bassong? Rose? Townsend? None of them have been "on sale for over two years" and you know it. Dis Santos is the only player you could say that of, yet he's been used in the Europa League and FA Cup this season.

We've tried to offload Bentley for over two years, but you might have noticed I never mentioned him as a replacement - in fact I keep saying we need to get rid of him to the first bidder this summer.

You constantly the term "weak players" which again underlines the fact you don't understand squad rotation.

At the start of the season, your logic would have dictated we were starting with a "weak player" who had one substitute appearance at the end of last season going by the name of Jake Livermore. Nobody is saying he's a "weak player" now, are they?

As for saying were rested for European football - a line Harry tried in the last week - the Europa League campaign was six months ago. In other words, Harry's attempts to deflect the truth of Corluka's observations underlined how right he was - barring a couple of FA Cup games, we haven't rotated the squad for six months.

Seriously, the majority of posters on this board are all sick of Harry's inability to handle the squad effectively, using 14 players when he has 25 (plus youngsters) at his disposal, and it has clearly cost us for two seasons in a row. Yet you want to keep arguing that we don't need to give players a rest, because...what, you fear change?

Today is the case in point: Benny has been knackered for weeks and his performances affected by it, but Danny Rose only gets a start not to give him a rest, but because he's out with a shoulder injury. Any halfway competent manager would have addressed this by now, but Harry hasn't - and you've been spouting off about "weak players" as a reason he's right to do so.

And what "hilariously put together team sheets" are these? You mean when I post the matchday squad into the official thread? Because those are the only team sheets I post on here.

If you're going to make **** up about other posters, at least try not to do it in a way that anyone with a memory span or a basic knowledge of the search function of this site won't call you on.

I blame John Terry for everything - without him Capello would not have resigned and none of this would be happening

What's more baffling is when he knows he needs to rotate players, but makes a hash of it - with Sandro being a fine example of it at the moment.

He knows that Sandro needs and wants games, yet rather than give him a short run in the team in Parker's place (or even bring him on when we were cruising, such as the last 25+ minutes against Newcastle) he decides that he needs Sandro to play...but he won't drop Parker in order to do so, which has led to our midfield being congested as a result, because he wants to somehow fit two defensive midfielders into our system despite it working best at the start of the season with just one. As for today, how long was Lennon playing on with a knock to his hamstring? GDS could've been brought on when we went 2-0 up, instead he got five or so minutes at the end.

You can't rotate the team when playing favourites still takes precedent, you just destabilise it cramming in the players you want along with one that wants/needs/demands games.

great post and very true older fans will remember those great teams but Harry tries to convince everybody we were always useless til he came along he is a great deflector of the truth everything must suit his agenda Friday he blamed the players for our collapse, guaranteed if we make the CL he will take all the credit before walking away

Yes Croydon., Sandro is indeed a fine example.
He (Sandro) was not going to lose that game today. He completely dominated the central midfield area. A fantastic professional display. Looked determinded to get on the score sheet as well.
He has been stifled recently because he has been forced to played in a packed midfield of 5 and has been given insufficient responsibility or the space around him, to play like he did today.
'Sandro Man of the match' IMO along with Lennon today.

Sandro is extremely underrated, in general, especially by the fans as he is real talent and should be getting more games.

On the one hand it's a logical choice by the FA, as the majority of England managers don't come from "big" teams - Ramsey and Robson from Ipswich, Greenwood from West Ham (Keegan from Fulham, McClaren from Middlesbrough...), and he does have experience of international coaching.

On the other hand, who sees Roy being the type of coach to stand up to the shenanigans of Terry and friends? Then again, Capello's CV said he was a coach who would, but he let him carry on regardless.

Yes, he was good. But, let's not get carried away. He didn't exactly have much in the way of a serious challenge today. Blackbum were truly ****ing awful!
