well just going by the text in the link - some Stoke fans were booing Ramsay who broke his leg in a game against Stoke in 2010 .
Shawcross took stick from Arsenal fans because of the tackle .... thats what i understand to be the cause it all.

    Ah right.

Ramsey, I believe, said something to the effect of "I won't forgive Shawcross" or "I won't shake his hand" or "He did it on purpose" or all three.

To that end, the prissy little ****er deserved abuse.

Reporter in The Observer said booing Ramsay, apparently for having his career threatened when his leg was broken in two places by Ryan Shawcross.

Think it is all to do with that incident where poor little innocent (as Stoke fans seem to think all their players are when they are being penalised for fouling, taking ages with throw-ins, and generally playing the game of football in not the spirit it is meant to be) Ryan was in tears as he was sent off - not because of the harm he'd done to the player NO it was because it was the day an England squad was announced and he thought he'd blown his chance of getting into said squad. We all know what chants Wenger gets at Man Utd, and suspect other grounds as well

Completely disgusting from stoke fans to be honest. They (of course a minority) should be ashamed.

Stoke are a waste of space - team, fans and manager, the lot of them!

My dad is a Staff and he used to go watch Stoke play at the Victoria when he was my age, he said the fans have always been loud and offensive, worse than Millwall apparently

Was it just "Booing" if so I dont really see the problem
I think opposition players should get as much stick as possible (except making it personal eg race/ religion/ sexual preference etc)

He's another one of them pricks along with Andy Gray and Hansen who is happy to criticise managers from the comfort of a studio never having had the balls to try management themselves. Lawrenson and Kamara on the other hand tried, and were just really ****ing ****. If I was a manager and ever criticised by them I'd shove it right back in their faces: "AH yes Mark, remind me again how you did at Oxford and PNE?"

    ****s.

My point is it's easy for anyone to criticise when they havent done it themselves. Andy Gray was offered the Everton job twice - the club he supposes to love and were in dire straits no less - and instead chose to stay picking up his piss easy money from Sky.

My point is - would you rather someone do it who wants to or someone who failed at management so decided to give TV a go

and its not as if Linker knows nothing about football these were all professionals

Spot on. Are there any critics who have actually done the job? Phil Thompson was an assistant nad as you say Lawrenson who else?

Read Keith Allens book about Lineker, smirking behind Sir Bobby's back. Shagging about for years behind his first mrs' back but chummed up to the press so much it never came out.

I used to go out with a lass who worked for the CPS. She was a Spurs fan and she ****ing hated Lineker! She knew of more than one occasion of him knocking his Mrs about too!
    Silvery ****!

THis is fact. He cosied up to them, offered columns and regular exclusive features so in return they wouldnt print the stories that piled high.

I don't disagree with much that's been posted about pundits only being there because they're not good enough to manage. I'd also say that the knowledge they've got tends to be very limited and effectively involves the club they were at and only during the time they were there. This is usually limited to the prem. Peter Beagrie puts their all round league knowledge to shame.

The questions I'd ask are, if not these slick media skilled ex-players, then who could do it and would you expect no criticism of managers? If first hand experience is the criteria, can any one of them (except Solarko who trained as one to improve his journalism) criticise refs?

I never said or even hinted that Wenger wasnt a professional

I just dont get why youre disliked for being a pundit if you havent managed, not all players want to go on and manage
