To be fait you did get absolutely battered in that champions league final, one if the most one sided finals I have ever seen, I'm pretty sure you never had a shot at goal until the 89th minute, plus you only won the league by one point. So while it was a great achievement, it wasn't as tho you swept every team aside with ease like barca did.
People forget that we had Scholes and Keane suspended for the final. If they had played we would have won about 3-0 with them in our team.
To be fair, i was at the match and you're taking ****. We didn't play as well as we could have as we had no central midfield, our right winger and source of goals Beckham had to play at cm, our left winger Giggs had to play right wing and he was replaced by the average Blomqvist on the left. Butt replaced Keane, not even on the same planet. The truth of the matter though is winning this tournament is about more than just the final and to say the team wasn't impressive is ignoring our superb group displays and the quarter v Inter and semi v Juve. That united side was brilliant and, at full strength, a match for the Barca one. As for the league, us 'only' winning by a point highlights the quality of our opposition, Arsenal, not the lack of ours. Barca winning by so much shows just the opposite.
The fact we won all 3 and did it by the skin of our teeth shows how difficult it is. No club in England has come close to it, no club imo ever will again. Had we focussed only on Europe or the League we would of won at a canter, we wanted the lot, we got the lot.
