to make pompey sell able chinny goes in with the trust clears the decks new deals for norris, ashdown, ethuhu and fuctas no more then 5000 a week (less then that hopfully) so start next year with norris, ashdown, ethuhu, webbster, harris, wallace and fuctas. also get a new cva agreed hopefully less then 10p to the pound. attracting players next year shouldn't be hard as we will be a big club in a small league so if chinny then gives MA the money from sales of players to bring in some frees similar quality to ethuhu a find some gems from the lower leagues. We just have to be strict and make sure we arnt spending any more the 70% income on wages which we could do that way we could build up a proper foundation and sensibly improve over then next couple of seasons whilst improving facility's! that way i think if he ran the club right over the next year he may get some of his money back make it sell able and maybe some fans might get off his back
I have to admit being surprised by the man - he's a businessman but didn't appear to apply any sort of business model to the club. Probably he thought that it would be taken care of by Lampitt, whose advice he then ignored (eg season ticket prices etc). Seems to be that he just wants shot of it with all, or most, of his money back so will sell to whoever comes along and agrees to fork out for his overstated investment. Anyone with any sense would know that the more a team slips down the leagues the lower the value of the club. I can't see him wanting to work with the trust either - they would be too much of a headache for him. I still think we are in for a whole truckload of ****e for a while yet.
For the above to happen we need an owner with passion. Chanrai has already said he doesn't give a toss about running a football club, just getting back his money. Unfortunately those two characteristics are not a solid basis for the above theory. Nice as it may be and to anyone with passion; probably no problem.....but to Chanrai? Pfft.
Your thread dan, whilst well meant, is like something out of a Carling beer advert........ Like 3rd eye says, we will have a Summer of angst, and a tricky season in the First Division, with a threat of a further points deduction awaiting us.
