Cork was my MOTM, but Guly was an easy 2nd. He had a very good game. But the reason they both had such good games was all done to one man - Mr Adkins.

I know people criticise his diamond when he plays it - both peopl on here, and people sitting around me - both for me, he gets it spot on more often than not. And yesterday, once he replaced hammond with Cork and went with the diamond (Morgan at the base, Guly behind the strikers, Cork and Lallana just tucked in from the flanks), was a prime example. The four of them were just superb, and competely controlled the game.

Fonte had been the leading contender for MOTM until Adkins made that switch after about 35 mins.

If I was in charge there would be a Guly Appeciation Thread, stickied at the top. He deserves this as much as anyone, delighted for the guy. And he was superb yesterday.

I'll see what I can do over the summer.

Not sure I'd fancy playing the diamond against a side who can use the width. He likes being in the hole and running from midfield. You need 2 sitting midfielders to have a man in the hole, and you either have to sacrifice width or a man up front to be able to do it.

Not sure I'd fancy playing the diamond against a side who can use the width. He likes being in the hole and running from midfield. You need 2 sitting midfielders to have a man in the hole, and you either have to sacrifice width or a man up front to be able to do it.

Either 2 sitting and playing or just 1 with the sole purpose of sitting.

Yes but with the 4-2-3-1 formation, we would basically have 4 strikers when we are attacking.

Times i have seen him he doesn't seem to be connected to the team as the others. Also when i see him in Ocean Village, he never looks happy and is always alone. Maybe he is finding life hard in the uk, he just doesn't seem a 100% happy guy.

I cannot see him changing his philosophy (and rightly so!!), but I wouldn't be surprised if he adapted the formation. I think the man is a great tactician, and is quite happy to change formation more than once during a game. I wouldn't put it past him to add a couple more different formations to the training ground schedule next season.

Ultimately though, I guess it largely depends on who we sign in the summer. Little point in playing my 4-2-3-1- for example, if we're unable to attract any wingers of sufficient quality.

It was great to see him being hugged and joining in with the celebrations yesterday. I always look to see how enthusiastic the players are to congratulate each other, and I have known them to be a little lukewarm with Guly, unless Chappers is on the pitch, who then always seems to be first and hugely enthusiastic. I notice Guly doesn't do interviews - actually that's not true, he has done one, I believe, and I understand his English isn't the best. That's an obvious barrier, if true.

Sometimes certain people can't bed in with other team members, quite as well as others. Footballers tend to be ebullient and outgoing, and Guly appears to like being quieter. Perhaps he's just shy..? I wouldn't read too much into his ways. His football talks the right language, and I very much expect him to be part of SFC next season.

Yep i did mean the content bit, but being hungover as hell i couldn't think what to put.

You could see that him and arguably Fonte, as I wouldn't say it's been his best season, were playing for their places in the squad next season. Still, I think both of them showed Adkins why they should be there next year!

watching him at last season's Awards dinner, there is no doubt he is one of the lads!

Not everyone is the same. He may be a family man and not a party guy. He may have a naturally glum face, but I have never noticed any difference when he is congratulating people and when they are congratulating him. Seems fine to me. Unless he had very strong personal reasons...can see no reason why he would leave nowwe are promoted.
