I get the feeling that as we are now safe (with QPR being stuffed out of sight at Chelsea) that we might well loose both remaining matches. Losing to Arsenal would have been predictable even if we were playing at our best, but the squad look complacent of late so losing to Aston Villa is also on the cards as they may be fighting for their Prem lives by the time they come to CR. Very disappointing results over the past few months played 11 lost 7 won 2 drawn 2. This is relegation form. I can see Ward, Drury, Tierney, Willbraham and possibly Jackson leaving or being loaned out.
Yes, missed Martin (at Crystal Palace) agree Barnett, Crofts, Lappin and Smith. Not sure who is out of contact, but would be happy to see any reasonable offer for Morison being taken by PL. The words 'headless chicken' spring to mind.
Me too! I live with two Liverpool fans one is actually from there too! 'Oh well it took Torres a season to find those goals'. No more like your gutted his not playing for you and money was wasted on Carroll. As for the players not sure on Morison, I prefer having all round forwards with pace and power.
I just like strikers who come good just in time to assure Norwich's survival. Torres scored a hattrick, we are safe, all is good!
No not really a lot of people comment on his attitude but his first touch is what lets him down in my eyes. If he had that an extra yard of pace he would have a lot of goals. One thing I have noticed with our forwards is we lack a partnership a lot of clubs these days like having one star forward but I'd be interested to see if we can find players that will compliment Holt, Jackson did really well last season but I'm not sure at the moment.
So we are going to get rid of EIGHT players? I don't see us buying EIGHT replacements over the summer, that's for sure. If we get rid of Ward and Barnett, we are left with Whitbred/Ayala/Ryan Bennett as our only three centre-backs. Considering the injury history of the first two, the chances are we would need two centre-backs at least because Ryan Bennett probably isn't even ready yet, and these two centre-backs would have to be decent too as they would need to play alot of games. If you also get rid of Drury, then we have one left-back who could also get injured at any point, so you'll need one or two more. Naughton's loan would have expired too, so Rusty will be our only RB, and we'll need another one of those too! Everyone also seems to want rid of Wilbraham/Morrison/C Martin so we also have three strikers on the shopping list, and then we'll need to replace those midfielders (Especially seeing as our midfield has been very poor in some games) so it seems you guys are expecting us to get 10+ new players over the summer. Never going to happen. Frankly, I still haven't seen what most of our strikers can do with service, so for me before we start looking at new strikers we MUST improve defence/midfield! We could of had Messi or van Persie vs Liverpool and never had scored. We are lucky we have John Ruddy and Steer so we don't need to worry about goalkeepers.
That's because PL wont play 4-4-2 often enough and likes to persevere with the diamond and one striker or sometimes (like yesterday) a 5 man midfield and one up front - I've been saying it for months and frequently getting shot down! Holt plus Jackson or Vaughan, would love to see that for a run of 4 or 5 games, more if we get the lions share of the points from those games or a respectable points total depending on the opponents for those games.
If we play 4-4-2 we need a defensive midfielder who has the passing and brains of Fox. I would like to see Holt and Vaughan play up front the big problem is I think a lot of our forwards are very strong minded no-one appears to fit together with the exception of Jackson and Holt. Dangerous Marsupial we're a Premiership Club we need to have standards I do not think any of those players are Premiership quality. Starting with the defence I'd like to see 4 new players drafted in. Midfield wise I think we need defensive midfielder but one who can pass and play like a deep lying playmaker which Fox does for us. Up front the competition is good but I still think we have too many big bullying forwards would like to see us lose one and get in a more all round type of forward.
Lets just take today to celebrate the massive achievement of surviving in the premier league with 2 games to spare. The summer is the time for getting bogged down in transfers, today is for showing appreciation for all the months of hard work that have led to this moment. Let's give Paul and the boys some credit for all they have done.
DM - the players that I listed are just not going to be good enough for next season, its clear as day and they need to be improved upon. I'm not expecting them all to go but thats who I would get rid of. As my other article says, we have to be realistic for next season!
