another thread about newcastle on the sunderland board. we've qualified for europe and you still can't help having a go can you. sunderland would love to be in it but they haven't finished in the top 6 since 1954 so little chance of that. when we've played in the uefa cup and champions league in the past you've laughed when we got knocked out, when regulars in the top 4 and runners up to man u in the past you've laughed also. we ain't deluded because we've won nothing and we know it.
when sunderland ever get to these levels we'll maybe listen to what you've got to say.

And yet despite this, we are still the last team to actually win something between us, the holder of the most league titles, have the record biggest crowd and the biggest ever top flight win (in the league and in derbies).

You can blather on all you like you still cant match our achievements.

That said, once again we have a craa who cant read. We would all like to be in the Europa league but have just noted that a week or so ago, some of your sad deluded ****-wits were coming on here and telling us you were now the new Man Utd challengers and Champions League contenders.

One capitulation later against a relegation threatened team and its all over. My point is its a shame those deluded ****-wits cant come back on when you lose as quickly as they do when you win.

Boo hoo, its the Sunderland board and we can talk about what we like, if you don't like it just go away. If you had bothered to read the tread you would see Newcastle are being generally praised for the position they are in.

a one off cup win doesn't make sunderland a big club, even wimbledon have won it since we both last did as well as others like southampton and palace etc. one high attendance doesn't mean that on a regular basis sunderland pull in bigger crowds than newcastle either because they don't. you've never had a higher average attendance than our record attendance average. sunderland have more titles that's true but i don't think anyone on these boards or even their parents were alive when it happened. same goes for our higher amount of cup wins. we've both under achieved for the amount of fans both clubs pull through the gates but it has to be said that in over 30 years that i've been going to games (first match against wrexham in 1979) newcastle have been on average far better than sunderland in terms of league finish, qualification for european competition and better teams/players.
as for one defeat against wigan and it's all over will only be the case if chelsea and tottenham capatalise by winning their games. as it stands newcastle are still 4th. my honest opinion before the wigan game was that we'd fall at the last hurdle like we always do as we make a habit of it. i predicted one point from 4 games with the fixtures we had remaining. still it's been a great season if we only finish in 6th.

Quite a good, and fair post, apart from the bold bit, which is not true.

If 'never' means 'since Keegan', then fair do's....

And the fact that despite all the evidence, you still cant give us any credit speaks volumes as to why you are all viewed as such deluded **** stains on this board.

I will happily concede that your crowd averages over the past are higher and that in recent years you have been more successful. I will also, as have many on here concede that you have had a very good year and deserve your top4 or 5 place this season. That's not the question.

Your lot can never give us credit for having more titles or for being the last team from the region to actually win something. When we finished above you (and you were relegated) for the past 3 seasons you still couldn't give us the credit.

Those kinds of sentiments remind us all here what a set of sad deluded ****ers you are and reinforce our utter contempt for you.

Hope this clarifies the situation more.

I still believe City's run in is harder. We have had a horrible performance, not for the first time this season, and previously we have shown we can bounce back. Even the most optimistic of Sunderland fans will tell you that your lads are away on their holidays already, and that will only be more true on the last day of the season when you will probably finish somewhere between 8th to 12th. Don't get me wrong, you may beat them, and fair play if you do, but you've won one in 8 and we've won 6 in 8, the facts speak for themselves.

Cest, you certainly will never have seen me saying we are the challengers of Man U and City <laugh> If other mags have (although I haven't seen it) then that's their own stupidity and they can be made to look foolish for it. I have said all along that we have a chance of 4th, but the most probable finish for us is 6th. Next year, my optimistic target for us is 7th and a good European run, as undoubtedly we will tire more at the end of the season. You mentioned earlier how much trouble we would be in if we lost Cisse and Ba to injury for a month or so, well we had to cope with that this season, albeit without Europa, and we did just fine. I'm excited to be in Europa, even if we finish bottom half next year, I'd rather appear in the cup and finish poorly in the league than keep on finishing 8th/9th.

BTW we aren't out of the Champions League race just yet, don't speak too soon :bandit:

Chiek, have a word with the bell end that is Chapped Arse. He came on here a week or so ago spouting just that very ****e and that we were no longer viewed by newcastle fans as competition as you had all moved on to the top 4.

I am certainly not counting you out of the top 4 either but I think like us recently, Saturdays game may prove to be a crucial defeat and a game too far. Chelsea (a), Man City (h) and Everton (a) is a tough ask, especially if Man City win tomorrow night.

I can see a scenario where you dont get another point and that may be enough to count you out of the top 4 race. Chelsea will be desperate to finish top 4. That said, maybe you will get another 3 or 4 points and qualify.

Thats my point though. You deserve your plaudits but some of your clan need to be knocked down a peg or two.

I'll happily do just that for them. Lol

Thanks any o'brien for coming on here and proving my point about condescending mags lol! When we come up to your level????? Well we've been above your level the last 4 seasons. Yes you have done well this season but it may be a blip, a freak anything. Let's give it another season or two eh!

Chiek whilst we have definitely switched off, I still think we will be up for the Man Utd game and we have the ability to beat them and it shouldn't be an easy game.

Newcastle in my opinion have the toughest run in of the lot by the way.

Credit to most Newcastle fans though who thought 6th was most likely.

Well a few of us have been saying for MONTHS now that Chelsea game is season defining, although none of us would have predicted it being in the scenario of coming off the back of a 4-0 defeat to Wigan <laugh> If we get beat, I don't see another point for us, draw and we're in the same position as we are now, win and it may just be the final kick we need to get another 2-4 points and push us over the line.

I'll be rooting for you on the last day of the season, as long as a win won't put you in the top half. I want City to win the league.

you're a very angry man cest, wish i could act so hard behind my keyboard. the last team in the region to win a major trophy were middlesbrough and not sunderland so does that make them the biggest club in the north east? of course not. i will give credit that sunderland have won more titles and won the fa cup and that you have finished above us in the last few seasons when we were terrible no problem. the fact that you honestly think sunderland are the bigger and better club than newcastle in modern times i can't get my head around. the bread and butter is the league every week and sunderland haven't been up amongst the big teams at the top in your lifetime unless you're a ripe old age. i'm 44 and don't think i'll ever see newcastle win a thing, we have a strange habit of falling flat on our faces when we see a finishing post but it's good to have a sniff now and again than never at all.

This is spot on mate! While I would be slightly disappointed to have "only got Europa League", I would be over the moon regarding the fact we have had such a good season and are unbelievably playing the the Europa League! If you get what I mean. The demands though, are greater in the EL as opposed to the CL which as you correctly point out is less work.
