Having watched the video now, I feel the article twists Bale's words slightly. I think he just gets drawn into using cliches in this interview which are easily misunderstood. Partly Crooks' fault for asking such inane questions.

  2. What's scandalous is that we invest in young talent and don't seem to have the ability to nurture it, let alone use it.

I'm using Bostock as a generic example. Harry's apparent lack of interest in the development of our younger talent is scandalous.

Football as we used to know it is gone. The Premier League should be seen as what it has become ... no more than play-offs for the Champions League. Another example of money destroying things.

So annoyed by what Bale has said - he's managed to unsettle the squad again right at the wrong moment.

His ego has massively grated with me over the past 4 months as well and now he has the audacity to go 'well i'll be off then' (pretty much).

It's ridiculous - good work Bale, you've learnt well from Harry about not thinking before you speak.

Some talent he has invested time in - Walker and Livermore are the obvious examples, and to a certain degree Caulker and Naughton - which is an improvement on some of our previous managers (for example, Jol's handling of Ziegler and Kaboul, Ramos' handling of Kaboul), although a lot of the time it does boil down to his idea of loaning them out and loaning them out until he thinks they're ready, rather than giving them opportunities to ease into the team.

On the subject of Bostock, it's pretty clear he's another Taarabt - he has talent, but his attitude is appalling and his professionalism non-existent.

On the subject of Bostock, you couldn't be more wrong. Without being rude to you, I do suggest you learn more about this player before posting comments which are clearly based on your own conjecture and not on facts.

When his poor attitude has been cited for his loan spells at Brentford and Hull ending prematurely, its not based on my conjecture - it's based on comments from people who've worked with him day-to-day.

The people who have worked with him on a day-to-day basis and whose opinions are those which count, are our own coaching staff, and they report Bostock does not have the issues you claim he does. But you seem to have made your mind up on this so I won't attempt to tell you what Paulo Di Canio has reported on Bostock's attitude at Swindon to our club, but believe me it is in complete contradiction to your view.

  11. I have to agree with Spurcat on this subject. If Bostock does have an attitude it will be one of anger at having been duped into joining us rather than Everton, and I think he would be entirely justified in having that attitude. How can a player who was rated so highly suddenly become so bad? I'm sorry, but I simply do not buy into that, especially when we have seen how badly Redknap has managed our youth policy. It's a shambles. I'm far more ready to believe that Bostock has been put out on loan because Redknap hasn't got a clue how to deal with him, or (as is more likely) simply cannot be arsed, because he isn't a big-name player.

Why do you think our youth policy is a shambles HIAG?

To be fair to Harry you cannot pick players because they WILL be good enough as a manager you have to put out the best team for the job. I have said before it's a sad fact that we lost the football combination and we don't play a reserve team but given the financial restraints it's unlikely that Levy would have sanctioned Harry to do that even if he wanted to. The top squeezes the bottom you can't avoid it, so putting prospects out on loan is probably the only option. Plus it frees up more money for the 'top'. So I am asking the question, what could we have done differently?

To be fair to HBIC there have been quite a few instances of his "attitude" being publically cited as to why he was not getting games for his loan clubs or the loans were cut short.

Of course we don't know the lad or know first (or even second) hand what happens all too often with the club but in this instance I don't think HBIC was getting as far into the realms of conjecture as is often done on these boards and others. Not to mention the national press.

  14. On reflection, "shambles" is probably the wrong adjective to use. "Non-existent" is probably better.

Well having watched it he does seem a little stary eyed about himself. So far today he has flattered to deceive, you are not where you think you are Gareth, not yet anyway. Still plenty of work to do at Tottenham methinks.

I would soon get rid of my bad attitude if I was playing under Paolo Di Canio..... you don't want to get on the wrong side of him. It's what a lot of these flash youngsters need.. a good kick up the arse and to keep working hard, then their natural talent should shine through

Similar was said when we sent him Gary Megson's way at Wednesday - four games later he was back at Spurs Lodge.
