Don't give me that junk it's good for welsh football, how many welsh players play for them ? And what does it say about my personality exactly ? I don't want our local rivals promoted, it's a rivalry thing it's got nothing to do with what kind of person I am <doh> what kind of swans fan are you ?

I think you are missing the point VS. Being good for Welsh football isn't just about the current playing staff of either club. Two successfull clubs in South Wales will generate more interest in the game.....the respective gates of both clubs prove this. Once you have supporters remaining loyal to the game, you get them to see the bigger picture. In turn that leads to more kids kicking a round ball rather than throwing an oval one. This is where the youth schemes pick up talented youngsters some of who will go on to represent their country. So it is good for Wales..........just as it will be if Wrexham make it back....and Newport for that matter.

As for rivalry; is it rivalry if we never get to play against each other?

I don't think you need to question anyones loyalty because they don't harbour ill feelings about their rivals.......in fact, having respect for your rivals makes them more worthy of being rivals. Superswan clearly sees the big picture.

Clingo I am only saying what a majority of swans fans say at the ground, we sing songs about the rivalry, and we don't want you promoted, sorry but it's just the way it is. I agree somewhat about being good for the support, but that is it. Being good for welsh football it won't be as the only way it could is if a majority of the welsh first team players played for us, which they don't .

And clingo if you went to the Cardiff stadium and asked around I would bet that your fans would want us relegated and you to replace us. It's just the same other local rivals who are in a different division, like villa and birmingham or norwich and ipswich

I am old enough to know Superswan, you don't appear to know what rivalry is, perhaps if you went to games you'd understand !

I wonder if the boot was on the other foot how many cardiff fans would honestly say "Yes Swansea we hope you join us in the PL"

Not as many as some people seem to think

My point exactly, they only want us relegated and themselves promoted, you only have to ask on the terraces not that I've been in the Cardiff end of any game.

Millpond, I guess at the end of the day it's impossible to give a definitive figure on who wishes what for our rivals. All I can say to you is, that when you were looking like joining us in the Championship, I perceived some genuine excitement at the prospect of renewing the South Wales derby. I also think that Villa and Birmingham enjoyed their rivalry more when they were actually playing against each other.

Anyway, this has the potential to go round and round.

It's been good talking to you all. Enjoy your footie. <ok>

dont talk daft valley not every fan is so childish. the majority of fans could not careless what the other is doing. Why would you care if cardiff join us in the premiership or not, good luck to them if they can make it... but if they dont then they dont and that dont make any difference to where we are....

Do you ever go to games ? Do you ever listen to what is being sung ? Do you speak to other swans fans except on here ? Most i speak to don't want Cardiff promoted, I see it at every game I go! I bet it was the same for Cardiff fans when we were trying to get promoted to the championship! Call it childish if you want, I call it reality.

No, Valley. He doesn't go to games. The timing of his posts prove that. To call a fellow Jack childish because he doesn't like Cardiff misses the point. His best mate is also a Cardiff fan.

But that's by the by. I can't stand this love-in. Good for you if you can bring yourself to wish our bitter ex-rivals 'all the best'. I can't and don't and never will. Most of their fans feel the same and I'm fine with that. What I detest is the falseness of some on our board (present company excepted).

A mate of mine who died last year was a massive blueturd fan and god we used to rip each other to shreds when it came to the rivalry, but still got on well and the banter was great between us. I knew he couldn't wish us well and the feeling was mutual. That didn't make us childish, just passionate.

Swim: Just look over Aber's posts and you'll see he was not only condoning violence but also revelling in his former Soul Crew hooligan life. How is inviting Swansea posters to seek him out not sinister and provocative? He has a dreadful history of doing this on our board.

Can't see how I was questioning your loyalty to the Swans as a football team, but supporting a "violent man" (his words not mine) who is also a Cardiff fan ahead of your fellow Jacks is curious.

A pub in cardiff was full of bluebirds on play off final day last year, groans when we scored and cheering like mad when reading looked like coming back.

That said the sole reason I would want cardiff in the PL is for the Derby, nothing more.

You have to remember that the rabble down the M4 wanted us to get less points than Derby.
They say they care about Welsh football well I didn't see a lot of that last season when Bellamy withdrew from a Welsh squad only to play for Cardiff.
The truth is they want to see us crash and burn and then can't understand why our fans are hostile towards them. Smacks of arrogance and naivety to me, one day they may get the message.

    Cardiff in the PL? No.

I would rather go and spend a nice weekend in Blackpool to watch the Swans rather than a bubble trip to Cardiff <ok>

playing each other again in derby matches, trying to get higher up the table and general humorous banter.....Like i said i wish them luck in trying to join us but if they dont then it does not matter one bit to me personally.....it would be good to have two welsh teams in the premiership thats all.....
