Can't say that I'm even slightly surprised.
I'm sure that the current questions over our manager's future are a concern for him, too.

What worries me is that the players are incapable of taking responsibility for their own failure. They are easily good enough as a group to have secured Champions League by now, but their failings have prevented that, instead of attempting to correct their failings they just choose to move on to another club and take the easy way out.

Unfortunately that is the modern day footballer, its everyone else's fault but their own, my own club have suffered this more than most, fabregas and nasri claimed that they left because they wanted to win trophies, when in reality they were part of the main reason we won nothing. It takes a brave man to admit his own faults, I would like to see some footballers take responsibility for their own actions, rather than blaming everyone else and jumping ship.

  5. Its not just Bale - 2-3 players each at Arsenal, Spurs, Newcastle, and Chelsea will want to move on if their clubs dont get CL football.

shame really he is such a talented player. Unfotunately as has been said above that is the modern day footballer. Unless the player is a direct product of your academy or a life long fan they behave this way. Even as an arsenal fan i hope he changes his mind as its something i can empathise with

There's only one quote that is potentially worrying in the whole article...

Which roughly translates as "Daniel Levy needs to sort out the managerial situation pronto" more than "I want to leave the second the season is over" - which once again points us towards getting the best manager available for the job, rather than putting all our eggs in the Brendan Rodgers basket.

Should have got Marin..he was higlighted ages ago on this board..i know few of us mentioning him as did i..as i think he is just as effective as Bale.....we really do behave like a club without ambition lately.

Im in a very small minority but if he wants out then sell him...sick of 'i need CL' from players who have been part of the failure to get it.
Carrick did it...if he's scored 3 or 4 goals more in 05/06 season the west ham game would have been irrelevant. Same the fillowing season when both berba and Keane went to sleep mid seasn .... And the same last season
where modrics lack of goals were part of us coming
5th...now this season when 4th should have been in the bag....always some one elses fault....get money for him and buy zaha from palace.

Just like Redknapp, he puts our dismal form his year down to bad luck. I've always found that people who work the hardest tend to be the "luckiest." IF he want's to go, he might actually put a shift in(mentally and physically) during the next 4 games.

He may want a move and or a pay rise, but it doesnt mean he will get it. He will get a move when Levy says so (when it is right for Tottenham or if at all), and a pay rise when he`s earnt it.

  13. With only Norwich and WBA left to play, I really cannot see Arsenal giving up 3rd spot.

The best we can realistically hope for is 4th (which, itself, is hugely disappointing), and even then we've got to hope that Chelsea lose in the CL Final, and I really can see them beating Bayern.

Given the noises that Bale is making, I expect us to lose both him and Modric. All I hope is that we get close to £100 million for the pair of them, and use the funds to get in 4 quality players, ones that we actually intend to use in our squad, as opposed to Bostock/Naughton/GDS/Kranjcar/Pienaar type players who we buy and never use.

apart from Bostock i would say them are the type of players we need in our squad..it is not their fault that they are not utilised properly by our club.

Bales comments are out of character. Is this a sign of the unrest about the uncertain future of Harry? Assuming the manager goes we really need a top name man as replacement to convince the players that it's worth sticking around. Young managers 'with potential' will not cut it with the Spurs squad.

  17. I couldn't agree more, Dona.

My point is that I hope we don't end selling Bale/Modric only to use the money to buy players that are never going to play in the team.

What Harry has done with players lie Pienaar, GDS and Bostock is nothing short of scandalous.

He'd have to do something really drastic to force a move out of Levy this summer and I'm not sure City and Madrid, the only teams who can afford him, are really all that interested at the moment.

I really would love to know what is "scandalous" about what Harry has done to Bostock.

Bostock hasn't really done himself too many favours in regards to his development; but yes, it is always a shame to see a much hyped player with raw talent not advance as we all would have hoped. Nevertheless, that's probably more due to his attitude and performances on loan than Redknapp I would imagine..
