Agree with all the comments especially those regarding Guly! Would have loved him to have scored!! Hope Stuart Pearce was watching and thinking who he could pick for the England squad from the Saints team! After all they are Premiership players now!!

Does that quite a lot, as does Butterfield and Seaborne. I suppose that's what happens when your full backs are encouraged to get forward. Wasn't really a problem today though; nothing was a problem, and the whole day just feels like a dream. I won't believe it's true until I buy tomorrow's papers..

I can't remember Guly putting in such a full on performance or quite some time. Not sure if Nigel had a word with him or what. He covered an awful lot of ground and really showed the class he showed earlier in the season. Coventry were woeful defensively and we could have scored more. Take nothing away from an excellent all-rouund performance.

Was very impressed with Guly...not just going forward but put in a couple of perfectly timed tackles. Like this, Guly is PL standard. Glad the crowd recognized this and chanted his name. Fonte also important today. After a few shaky moments, the team was great.

One of the funny moment today, was when we sung "we are Southampton, we're **** on TV"

    Brilliant.

Davis made some important saves early in the game. Fonte after getting over his early nerves had one of his best games of the season and Guly and Lallana were the playmakers who kept us ticking. Great performance once we got the first goal. Wooooooooo :)

I burst out laughing when I heard that, before joining in. Not quite as funny as the chanting at Peterborough, mind you.

Guly was our best player I thought along with Jose. Guly barely lost the ball all game and looked calm on the ball which rubbed off well on the rest of the team. I think this deep playmaker role could be very valuable defending leads in the premier league. He also intercepted/tackled to get the ball back a lot.

    Davis 8
    Butterfield 7
    Fonte 9 - MOTM
    Hoovield 8
    Fox 7
    Hammond 8
    Morgan 8
    Guly 9 - MOTM
    Lallana 8
    Lambert 8
    Sharp 8

Sharp and Lambert look a great partnership now and I'm much more confident we can score goals in the PL since this partnership has improved game by game as they have more of an understanding for each other

I think we should invest in a pacey attacking player in particular for next season. We need more pace away from home to hit teams on the counter if we are under pressure.

Guly was superb today, everything we always want to see from him was there. Work-rate, technical ability, everything!

Play like that and he will be fine in the PL, good to see the crowd really getting behind him too.

    Well done Guly.

Guly was fantastic, and I have to praise the crowd for giving him a good reception. When he didn't get that corner in the opening minutes he looked frustrated and the chants of his name seemed to pick him up. His best performance for ages.

Also thought Butterfield was excellent today, didn't put a foot wrong, and our midfield looked more fluent when Cork came on, and even more fluent when they went to the diamond!

Great to see Lallana get on the scoresheet at last too, the only thing missing was a goal for Lambert; you could see everyone trying to set him up for the last 15 minutes!

Great team performance, albeit against very poor opposition.
