Liverpool were better and the match stats will back that up but the real difference was the finishing by Suarez! What an outstanding hat-trick (his 1st for the work dodgers). Helped with some poor defending but he still had a lot to do for each goal.

We can only dream of such quality I guess

Sorry lads but the truth will out. You work hard but quality always tells in the end! I predicted 0-3 but didn't expect a hatrick. <diva>

The centre backs need to accept some culpability for the goals today - wtf was Ward doing not clearing his lines for the 3rd? Far too lackadaisical for this level. First rule of defence - get rid?

Well, it's not losing that bothers me or even Suarez scoring a hat-trick it is the performance that has me down. We matched Liverpool for 20 mins and then they scored and never looked back. Suarez was mezmerising today, Bellamy and Gerrard were awesome today too, but this cannot not excuse the poor team performance.

Ruddy - 6.5 - As with alot of games this season and no fault for any of the goals, three unreal finishes. Let down badly by his defence.
Drury - n/a - Went off crocked when the game was level.
R Bennett - 3.5 - Coming in from Peterborough to the Premier Ship, as the Man City game suggested he is not ready yet. Let on a merry dance by Liverpool forwards all day long.
Ward - 2.5 Really, really poor. I can't think of anything good to say about him today, like a lost school boy against Suarez. I have always defended him, but Barnett was dropped for much less.
Naughton - 5 - Beaten often, was lucky he was playing Henderson and not Suarez.
E Bennett - 5 - Hardly involved, not so much his fault though.
    Pilkington - 5.5 - See Bennett
Howson - 5 - First disappointing performance I've seen from him, passing was slack and easily tackled.
Johnson - 6.5 - Only midfielder (Or player?) we had who retained the ball reasonably well. Dragged down by his teammates.
Fox - 5 - Gave away the first goal with a loose pass, although it was very clever from Gerrard and paid the price by being subbed.
Morrison - 4.5 - Normally when he has no service he at least wins some headers but today he had no impact on the game whatsoever. In hindsight, it is easy to question why he started ahead of Holt.

    Subs:
Martin - 6.5 - The only defender not to have been embarrassed today. Only player to put in any kind of decent delivery into Liverpool box.
Vaughan - 6.5 - At least had some decentish chances by our standards. Made most of his passes. Would be interesting how he would do with 10 players around him playing well.
Holt - 6 - Hardly touched the ball, came on way too late. Still achieved more than most of the team.

I maintain if Andy Carroll had played instead of Suarez it would have been 0 - 0.

Quite possibly, there was no real serious goal threat from any other player, not even Bellamy.

When do we hide when we lose? What a load of tosh - much like your defending today.

We usually get referred to as 'binners' or 'bindippers' too. And being on the Liverpool match thread I think it was a reasonable assumption.

    I take it back nonetheless!

    No problem. <cheers>
A couple of 'binners' came on to see how we were getting on, hence the reason why the term was brought up
