I think we should be worried about holding onto McClean. As far as today went it was same old same old imo with some terrible passing, OShea should not be at right back and Catts looked off the pace but the passing at times was amaturish. Sess didn't look as lively as usual but he hasn't for a while now. The good things were yet again McClean who is still raw but improving as is Coleback.
Can't see why we can have this knee jerk reaction every time, straight after a game. Yes, home to Bolton who are struggling, you would think banker home, but with the season almost over and nothing to play for, (other than getting as high up the table as we can)? Bolton were playing hoping to get some sort of result considering where they are! Why knock player's when it's end of season and suddenly they aren't playing to their potential, I'm baffled?
Who am I Knocking? After the start to a season we had and the turnaround MON has brought I'm happy but do you think Martin is happy with the last three results which were games with a little more guile we would have won. Yes MON has brought a higher expectation but one thing about me lad is I've always been a realist and realise what’s needed and what we have. I don't think being able to pass to a player in your own team should be above a professional footballer and I know in the heat of the game even the top players do this but what is unforgivable is when it is done so regularly no matter what the standard. Footballers and managers deserve credit when due and likewise criticism, that is why they get the big bucks.
I kind of agree with this..I'll tell you why. During the game, Sess was fouled, hence the free kick, up steps McClean and scores a belter, all good so far, well done JM. Now my dilema. Sess the best player we have, but seems to lack in certain places....Take other teams best players Messi Ronaldo Gerrard etc etc. One thing they all have in their game is the ability to take a good free kick on a regular basis, so i was a little confused to why in a game like this, the pressure was put onto the shoulders of such a young player...so maybe this is an area where Sess is lacking as compared to other like for like top players. So well done JM,
The problem with Sess is teams know him now so he has to work that bit harder to impress us, the same will happen with McClean next season. As said it's the end of the season the lads have in my opinion binned it not great for the fans who expect them to perform every game especially considering the cash they are on but, that's the way it is. This is the price of mid table mediocrity lads and, if I'm honest it's boring the living **** out of me.
I was as disappointed like most fans watching them yesterday. However if we look at it long term, MoN will have learnt more about the players in the last month or so than he did in the previous 4. We are at the moment a mid-table side. Nothing more, nothing less.

What worries me more is the rumour doing the rounds over here that Man Utd have tabled a bid for McClean as Sir Alex is a big admirer. Could be rubbish but the lad is a Man Utd fan as well and in all honesty I don't think this would be a good move for him as he needs the game time to improve something I'm sure Martin will undoubtedly tell him.
Now if his progress develops at a rapid pace, this could become reality in a matter of time, a few seasons maybe. Don't think anyone could begrudge a player of this kind of move in his career, but it seems a bit early at present... How-ever SAF has been known to develop a few players in his time, i still feel it's to early in his career for this kind of move, but i'm not a football player or manager, so i won't say "this can't happen".
Think he would be mad to even think of moving for at least another couple of seasons. The best thing he can do for his game is play regular and he will do that here in a decent team with a good manager who are looking to improve. Why go to Man Utd to play in the Carling Cup and the odd sub appearance here and there.
