Must admit, he doesn't seem to have much more to say off the top of his head than the average informed fan. Perhaps that's why they employed him, so as to get a more grounded view of football matters..? Apart some good, logical comments from our own Wee Gordon Strachan today, once again the man who came out with more sensible remarks than not, was Mr Claridge.
Claridge is one of the best pundits about, and I also think Gary Neville is great too. Never thought I'd say that about either of them but its refreshing to have pundits who don't speak in cliches (Hansen, Shearer), or ones who spout inane drivel in the name of "banter" (Savage)
He had a point though. Money is a big motivator to players these days. I'm finding lately that the younger pundits talk a lot more sense. The game has changed so much since the likes of Hansen and Lawrenson played.
It was a random change of conversation after hearing Gordon Strachan eulogising about the club and their set up.
Gordon Strachan is the last great manager we had apres Adkins! His dry humour and love for the club still remains.
