The inevitable has happened today and L2 awaits your arrival next season.

Like most of you (I guess) at 3-2 up I was somewhat optimistic about your survival chances, although they were still slim. How you conspired to give away 2 goals in the last 5 minutes I will probably never know but I do know how you are all feeling tonight.

As I have always promised, I will still be following Wycombe next season and hope for better times to return <ok>

Thanks Thai. It's been coming for a long time but we kept getting a glimmer of hope. Right up to the 89th minute today.

    Very cruel.

It's never easy Ron but I guess many of you had at least partially resigned yourselves to your fate some time ago, although of course as football fans we keep the faith and hope things get better. The only chink of light I can offer is - it is better to go down today injury time than it would be next week in injury time <ok>

Hopefully some lessons will be learned and some investment will be provided to improve should you get promoted again. I would really like to see a smaller club like Wycombe reach the Championship and perhaps one day it will happen. Bristol Rovers, Hereford, Shrewsbury, Stockport, Gillingham and many others have all managed it at some point in their history.

Crikey I didn't realise they had all been in the Championship, or are you counting the old Division 2 when the top Division was Division 1?

Yeah ok, I have should have said the 2nd tier of the football league but if memory serves me well then the following have played in the Championship...

Port Vale, Swindon, Stockport, Gillingham, Bradford City, Southend Utd, Crewe Alex & Plymouth (all L2 now except Swindon who are promoted & Stockport who are now non league)
