If Southampton get promoted, where do you think they will finish in the Championship next season?

Well, Devo. The Pompey faithful have had 6 hours to think about this, and their lack of posting might indicate a belief that it won't happen or a lack of interest if it does. I am guessing that most of them don't care provided it's below Pompey.

Looking at the teams who came up last time, IF we go up, I would expect with some acquisitions in the summer, we could make the play off, wearing my stripey red and White specs! :)

As a guide, here's how the promoted sides have done in recent years.
Prevous season's League One Champions in Green, runners up in orange and playoff winners in red

    10/11 (as of 31/3/11)
    2...Norwich
    5...Leeds
    12..Millwall

    09/10
    5...Leicester
    20..Sc,unthorpe
    24..Peterborough

    08/09
    8...Swansea
    14..Doncaster
    19..Nottm Forest

    07/08
    4...Bristol City
    19..Blackpool
    23..Scu,nthorpe

Also, if Saints are in the playoffs rather than runners up, it may interest their fans that in 3 of the last 4 seasons, the League One playoffs have been won by the team finishing 3rd

I think that if Southampton do get promoted this season, that with (1) the possible incarceration of Lee Barnard, (2) the possible sale of Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, and (3) if the pie meister (Rickieeee) struggles to find his form at a higher level, they might struggle to score goals, and may well find themselves known as "Southampton Nil" in the footballing world...........:p

If the scummers do come up i think they will do alright, would be good to have 2 derby games next season.

I really do not think now that they will make it. Rationale for this is; Barnard's mum is currently(no pun intended) baking a cake with a file in it. 2. Oxo Cube is on the gravy train out of Saints and is injured for some weeks yet according to Auntie. 3. Lala has been rushed back from injury as a key playmaker against Franchised Dons, which will be a mistake as if he plays at 110 % he will inevitably aggravate the existing injury and be out perhaps longer. That will effectively cook their goose. I still predict a Saints 1- Franchised Dons 2 result at the weekend and their season to unravel with fixture congestion from there. I really fancy Udders for 2nd and Posh for 3rd to beat Saints in the play offs.:emoticon-0136-giggl

Huddersfield looked pretty good against Notts County the other day. If Southampton do get second spot, they will have done it the hard way.
