Switched off the stream, woeful stuff. Three shots on target, three goals. Sometimes it just happens. Iffy penalty and offside goal gone against us.

It could be worse - Newcastle are 4-0 down at Wigan.

Then again, who's to say it won't get worse!

Poor team selection and individual errors cost us big time today.

Firstly, Murphy was fit to play so why the hell didn't he? Kelly was also fit to play according to club reports, so why didn't he start ahead of Senderos who was again woeful and rightly subbed at half time?

Pog and Duff have had shockers for the first goals, if you don't want the ball to hit you in the face then don't be in the ****ing wall!! And how Duff hasn't kicked that header from Fellaini off the line I don't know.

Awful viewing but we have come to expect little else from our trips to Goodison. Maybe Jol can blood a few youngsters in the remaining matches as 7th is now out of reach.

Oh well, at least I had Jelavic in my dream team (although I also had Tim Krul and Danny Simpson, but the less said about that the better).

Poor performance all round and a day to forget.

Murphy needs to start on Tuesday

I said today was the most difficult of our remaining games so I am confident of getting at least three more points from our three remaining games, starting with Sunderland!

What to say - 3 avoidable errors to give away 3 soft first half goals. Bandit has it spot on for the first two and it's difficult to know which of Schwarzer ot Hughes were most to balme for the third.

Hangeland, Diarra and Dembele were especially poor. There was an inevitable improvement when Baird came on for Senderos at half time but it was still pretty lack lustre. Dempsey was the only player to come out with any real credit - that first half save from his (deflected) shot was astonishing.

The thing that I found particularly disappointing though was that none of the youngsters/newcomers on the bench got any game time. And why have Murphy on the bench at all when he was obviously being held back for the L'pool game.

Do you know if it was Jol or Billy who decided on the line-up today 58? No Kelly, no AJ, no Murphy etc doesn't sound much like a Jol selection. I know he scored the winner last week but Senderos's overall performance merited him being dropped today for either Baird or Kelly. The substitutes were also strange. Bringing on Etuhu so Dembele can play up front? Taking of Pogrebnyak and not bringing on Sa/Trotta?

Lets forget this ever happened, only positives were Dempsey in the 1st half, a few fine saves at the end from Schwarzer and how we looked better with Baird on. Hughes is not a right back and it seems ridiculous to persist with him. We know we need a new right back in the summer so until then either Kelly or Baird will do, Hughes should be at centre half with Brede.

Onwards and upwards though, if we beat liverpool we can still finish above them. COYW!!!

I believe it was Jol. I get the feeling the complete lack of Kelly means he wasn't fit enough.

I heard that Jol picked the team too.

Strangely, after losing 4-0 I'm not too down about it. It's not so bad losing 4-0 with only three more games to go when you know you are already safe. Sure, I'd rather be winning 4-0, but I think all of us would have taken our current situation if offered it back in January.

Can't win then all and Everton have a hoodoo over us at Goodison anyway - would prefer our chances against Real Madrid to be honest. Anyway, in the grand scheme of the season it doesn't matter much. Think we can do Sunderland next week. Not sure about Liverpool on Tuesday, though.
