This is it <ok> It all depends on how much he wants to come to Arsenal. German players are less likely to leave their shores as say Dutch or French players. Add to the fact that he is only 19, playing for a team that has just won their domestic league and playing for a good manager. I'd expect him to stay and develop under BD unfortunately. Maybe we should trawl the Spanish leagues? They seem to be producing the best midfielders at present. Silva and Mata are two of the best mids in the prem.

It's just the same old, same old from Wenger, we've heard it all before, it was the same with Vermaelen last year.

He's just full of sh1t and excuses, probrbly doesn't want Jack to play in the Olympics,

Who want Jack to play in the Olympics other than Murray?

  5. That would mean we should just ignore everyone's views who is not an insider at the club. Makes no sense at all.

You can't disregard the views of one of the top football manager's we've ever had in this country just because you dont agree with him!

    That's not what I said.
I said that his views should be taken in the same manner as anyone else commenting outside of the club.

  7. You're still wrong. For example, his views carry significantly more weight than yours, because he has been a player and a manager for some of the top teams in the world. I would say he knows an awful lot about working with medical teams at football clubs, what is normal in terms of injuries and what is abnormal enough to warrant investigation.

I would sell Walcott to replace with pretty much anyone in the same price range. (what we'd get from him)

One of the most overrated players in the Premier league in at least 15-20 years. Even in this season when people are saying he's doing ok, he has like 1 decent performance every 6/7 games, the rest sub-par.

I work in the medical profession (im a physio) and I can assure you that if george Grahame had a clue about medical science he would not be making these comments, there are so many variable to consider when treating injuries, for all we know it could be the players themselves that are at fault for not doing the correct things that they are told to do.

Infact most of these players return to there home countries for treatment after initial injuries, therefore it may have nothing to do with the arsenal medical staff, remember the horse plasanta thing a few years ago with RVP, tho I would imagine jack was treated by our medical team all the time, but most of the foreign players go back home.

  11. Sorry enigma, but that makes no sense at all. George Graham does not need to be a doctor to know what is normal and not when it comes to injuries. He's spent his whole life talking with medical people within the football world and seeing the effects of injuries on players. I used to work in finance, but that doesn't mean I can say I know more about Arsenal's finances than Arsene Wenger.

In terms of players going home - I dont think that most do... well at least I have not heard that before. I know about the horse placenta, but seriously, do you think most of our foreign players leave the club for treatment when they get injuredwith our medical team uninvolved?

The JW injury most definitely warrants some kind of investigation on how to improve things. This is basically what GG has said - he sees it as unusual, which is what has been said by many. He's not professing to be a medical expert.

Hopefully it's just Wenger trying to make sure that Jack does not get picked for the Olympics. We need him to have a full pre-season.

  13. I thought that too - and it may be right... I suspect we'll see him eased into matches - 15-20 minutes here and there during pre -season, before playing the last 2-3 pre season matches from the start.

SACK THE MEDICAL STAFF. Hire a 'friendly' nubile young lady physio. Promote one of the groundsmen to carry a bucket with cold water, a pack of elastoplasts and a big mucky sponge. Whenever our player is prostrate - stand next to him count to 6 and if still there throw the contents of bucket at them. All problems solved - easy peasy.

Oh - and limit transfer fee to £30m. Play hardball.
