Off to the match, to see Sunderland put a nail in Bolton Wanderers coffin good luck to all who play today beat the bookies. Cracking double to be had in the Premiership Everton, West Brom 3/1
oooohhhh Lexi's Boy. I have that in the league comp. Get in! forgot that race was so early. I have gone for Bar De Ligne here (in the league comp). Just re-looked at the card and I have to say I have no idea why .
Ground really is bottomless. Could really play into Le Beau Bai's hands. I'm not convinced that West End Rocker is well in whatsoever though.
Ground does look soft now. It's been raining all morning. Hugh Taylor did say that the time comparison with previous years suggests it isn't too bad. I think it's wet and sloppy so might look worse than it actually is . . . . Only bet today is Sanctuaire. Not convinced the ground is in his favour now and I'd rather Ruby was riding but I think he could be a cut above.
Can't be arsed doing write ups but my bets today are: Quel Esprit Balder Success Une Artiste Trixie small stakes for interest.
In fact, scrap that. Hugh Taylor: "2nd race at Sandown around 23 seconds slower than 4 prev renewals of same race over same 2m 3f 110y C&D (though all 4 were on quick ground)".
My thinking is that one has proven time and time again that he is short of top class, the other is Sanctuaire. I'm not saying he is, but he might be. He has looked very good so far over fences. His times (although any analysis is sketchy) make him the 2nd best novice seen over 2m so far this season and he hasn't been off the snaff yet. He could bomb, but I think he could win as well. I hope he does because we need some opposition for the Black Aeroplane.
I was at Sandown when he ran last time and he is a real character, he was on his toes and Ruby had to mount him on the way to the track. He is a talent but I would really be wary of him in top company, especially on going like he meets today.
I was there too. He is a good looker, really athletic. I would rather good ground and I would rather Ruby was on board. However, I know that the rest of the field is good but not tip top. I hope that Sanctuaire might be so am prepared to chance him. He is always one to be wary of. He might not even start.
6.05 Doncaster Hurricane Lady 8/1 Too hungover for a write up but really fancy this one. Makes her debut for Mike Murphy today having joined the yard back in September and she looks to have a fair bit of improvement left in her.Only 3lb higher than a head second back in August last year. Only a 4 year old, she has run well fresh in the past and this is the sort of horse Mike Murphy excels with. Kieron Fallon booked today and although the ground is a bit of an unknown, the yard have had her long enough and I don't think they'd bother risking her on ground she wont like.
