You know the ones, they don't get much attention or don't get enough credit, John O'Shea was good for us, he scored some important goals for us like against Arsenal in the 04/05 and Liverpool 06/07 season which effectively won us the title, Wes Brown is another, the manager said he would've been the best defender in England if he hadn't been injured, i would agree, he was very good, especially in the 07/08 season when we won the league and the champions league.
Every single one of our players is considered to be **** by our rivals yet we're top of the Premier League (again). Therefore, you could say the entire Man Utd squad is underrated.
Evans is still underrated by many imo. De Gea also concerns some fans despite his great performances over the last few months. Before I would have said Park though he has hardly featured of late in order to be rated either way.
That's true, to think we could win the league for the 2nd season in a row would be a great achievement.
Peter Shilton said on thursday that he could cost us the number 1 spot, he's only 21 years old for god sake, he's going to be world class in 2 years time.
ever since De Gea has been with us, the critics have been a go at him, and that's unfair in my opinion, i was one of those telling people he'll come good and so far i've been proven right.
And our own fans, moreso I would say Apart from wazza of course, even the slightest thing said about him and people call for a banning SAF and his 'average' players (the oshea's/gibsons/parks etc) are the reason our team is 'united' and these players come in and do a job when the 'stars' are rested or injured. THIS and THIS alone imo is the reason for our success and not buying the messi's and ronaldo's of today and yes I know ronaldo was one of ours, but I said 'today' as in the best in the world. We had him when he was potential and made him step up even the likes of rio and rooney who we spent BIG money on were potential when we bought them
HIYA MATT good to have you back fella, thought you were treated badly on here by some dont let the foookers grind you down, keep going I enjoy ALL your articles
I agree, i'm a fan of his, and to think he could win his 5th league title in 6 years with us, tells you a story.
Exactly, we got Ferdinand when he was 23 years old, i think we were after Nesta that summer ( correct me if i'm wrong ).
Its swings and roundabouts with UTD 'fans' There is a heirarchy of who gets shoite when we do badly in a game Evans was the obvious for a while, then the likes of Gibson etc. As players move on and get less games the heirarchy of blame shifts On the switch side there is the 'wish we had..' heirarchy. This gets deployed when a player is injured for an extended period and everyone believes If said player was available it would have been different For best example see Nani and possibly Owen Oh and Berbatov
NO they didnt Oshea wa the go to guy for SAF in most positions and people who know football recognise the worth of such players He was 3rd /4th choice in most positions and did a fantastic job when called upon
