Ah! Stille Nacht. Sung to me every Xmas Eve since 1968 by my husband and all 3 verses too! Love the words and brings a little tear or two.

NFUNo1 - I never knew you had it in you. Ladies and Gentlemen we're floating in space is my favourite album of all time. A whole album dedicated to the break-up of a relationship when the couple were both in the band and you can hear the heartbreak in Jason Pierce's voice. How is it not more widely recognised for genius I do not know - has the rest of the world even got ears?

Oh, and for me it's Nothing compares 2U by Sinead o'Connor. Incredible emotion and probably the best cover version of all time. I like Prince but this version kicks the **** out of it

I'd cry if a member of my family (including pets) died.

I hate how everybody cries at the slightest excuse though. I think it's compulsory for owners to cry on Gordon Ramsay's shows.

That Connells one is so haunting... Shooting Star by Bad Company always gets me as its so obviously about Paul Kossof and the other day I found Teddy Bear by Red Sovine that the the kids had years ago.....

okay at 15 minutes might be a bit long. First heard it at the end of Platoon and just thought wow. Still the most moving. Then there's The Who's Behind Blue Eyes, a couple of Nils Lofgren tracks , Clarence Carter Patches "I'm depending on you son" and Tiger Rag obviously

As soon as I saw the title of this thread I thought of this song. I always forget it was in Platoon but I remember this particular performance by the BBC Orchestra just a few days after 9-11. It reminds me how Britain and most of Europe as a whole stood so strongly with us. Too bad an unfortunate and mostly pointless war followed and continues. By the way, I don't cry. Never. I'm a man. Of course I don't cry. Not one bit. Never.

Thats the two of us then....never ever cry. Ever. Just something in my eye. Honest. But just supposing if you did with strings or Agnus Dei?
