I know the PL has less games than we do, it still seems a ridiculously late start. 2008 there was a Euro Championships and an Olympics tournament and I don't remember our game against Fulham being that late. I know there wasn't a GB side in China, but that's only going to affect a maximum of 18 players, and some of those aren't even first teamers in this country (eg Beckham). My initial thought on it was that they'd given the PL starting date by mistake, and that we'd be a week earlier. As for end of the season. The Championship will be a week later, we're only early this season because our Playoff Final is a week early. Next season we'll be back on the Bank Holiday weekend with the other Finals. The PL won't have much room for change though, because they'll still need to avoid the Saturday Champions League Final being the last weekend of their season in case we've got a side in it again. What makes you so sure March will be any less crowded though? We're going to have a shorter overall season to fit the same number of games into, and March will still be the dumping ground for the games scheduled for the 5th Round of the FA Cup or any winter postponements.
The thing that sticks out for me was that he scored 4 in their 7-1 thrashing of Ipswich earlier this season. He's also fat and wears number 8, beyond that I don't know much. I thought he was quite old (probably based on the weight) but apparently he's 23.
From today's Fail: Barmby will meet with owners Assem and Ehab Allam early next week to discuss City's plans for next season and he hopes to get the green light to sign "four or five" new additions this summer. http://www.thisishullandeastriding.co.uk/story-15942822-detail/story.html
@Fourth_Official: Leicester City have enquired about a deal for Manchester United's Robbie Brady, not sure if loan or perm #Lcfc #mufc Would you like to see Hull keep him or wouldnt you be too bothered
With our existing squad I wouldn't be bothered about him going, there's several players who'll be available at reasonable prices (or on loan) that I'd rather have, because Brady for all the ability he has got has only contributed to about 5 goals all season. The 2 he scored, the assist against Cardiff the first time round, and 2 that I'm giving him as a safety margin so that I don't say 3 and have someone turn round and say I've missed one. If we signed a targetman I'd be quite happy to keep him, but it still wouldn't be a disaster if we lost him as he's probably only been our 3rd best winger this season despite Stewart's head being a mess for what ever reason. If you're going to play someone with aerial ability up front then he'd be quite useful because his crossing is good (not sure what he was doing against M'boro though). If you're not going to then his options become rather limited and he becomes greedy because he's much more of a crosser than a cut inside and play a clever pass kind of winger, so without crossing available he cuts in and shoots all the time. If he's on the right he likes doing the cut inside and cross with his left, aiming it for the back post which I like players doing because if they mishit it it's either too far away for the keeper to get or it becomes a shot on target. On the left he just does standard beat the man and put in an outswinging cross.
from @mygrannyshamster Crawley have enquired about taking Matt Mills from Leicester for a fee of around £100k. Have you any comments? Good deal for Leicester?
My dad can lip read a bit. Pearson was saying something like 'we will probably get someone for that position' to AA. Not very usefull but never mind lol
...and AA was smiling and nodding in a diplomatic way. (As in: Fook off! I ain't spending all my falafel money on footballers, pal.)
"well you Assam, that's ball. The peopley things running around are the players." And in reply: "Are these floodlight's on a change over switch between the mains and a generator set?"
Here's a name not mentioned for a while, even though I don't know his name as such. The young strong and fast Centre Forward who i saw playing for Sunderland Reserves and ended up on loan at Oldham I believe. Some were suggesting that we'd already signed him at one point last season.
How about a double offer....Tomlin and George Boyd. Boyd just rejected a new contract at the Posh and is the final year of his contract with the club. Both good players with an eye for goal.
That's the bloke. Hardly the finished article but from what I saw, a decent prospect and much better than any of the kids we have up front at the moment
