Warnock also non-committal on @Clayts15 future while says Ross McCormack needs team to be set up in certain way to accommodate him
So Josh, you also believe that now and only now potential investors are not interested due to protests?
Now where have I heard that before Josh? You don't think the way he talks about ex players, ex managers, ex staff in his programme notes and interviews saps the morale out of his staff, afraid to get on the wrong side of him? You don't think Shaun Harvey with his "oops I ****ed up the contract negotiations again, oh well!" is having a psychological effect on those in and around the club? The frustration caused by yet another player refusing to sign or yet another player walking away from the club for greener pastures, that will have an effect. Everything, and I mean everything, will be a battle with ken bates. Every tiny little thing will be a battle. That is tiring. Tired staff means low morale. Low morale means anxiety, and it spreads. There's so many psychological factors in play here. The power of suggestion. It spreads like a virus. It can happen to players when they lose confidence and struggle to find their form, it can happen with everybody else. Also, you'd be surprised at how unprofessional some people can be. I guarantee bates is a nightmare to work with.
Not now but over the last few years, its not the only factor in it but there is absolutely no way that the protests do not affect the team negatively IMO Everything I have made bold is an assumption you have made to make your argument stronger. I could make an assumption on each of those points that would be completely opposite and have a completely different affect on the reader. You do not know how the inside of the club felt before the fan's protests started. I have no doubt morale is low now but I really do not think the same could be said even a year ago.
it's an assumption made because I can tell he's that kind of person. He argues every tiny little thing for absolutely no reason. He does it in the programme notes, it's a fair assumption to believe he does it with anybody who works with him. As far as I see it, it's gotten worse since bates became the owner "officially". That was the turning point. He's been a damn sight nastier and less forgiving since then.
No there assumptions to try and make others think the way you want them to. You can't tell what kind of person he is just by reading his controversial views and because you have an existing hatred for the man you pick up on every negative far more easily than with other people and ignore the positives not purposely but because you aren't looking for them.
...what positives? Seriously, stop doing this. It's gotten silly now. I have tried, and tried, and tried to see the positives of having that man in charge and just can't seen any benefit. There aren't any positives to him at all, when was the last time he said something nice about somebody?
And they are assumptions based on some pretty strong evidence, the man has been in court the last few days and has been quoted as calling the prosecution "pathetic" and being condescending towards a group of people who will ultimately decide whether "he" has to pay a fine. We've established he's not a very nice person over years of him being a not very nice person. We've established he's stubborn and will argue the toss about anything, on the basis of years of him being stubborn and arguing the toss about everything. If he's not like that with his staff, it would be very surprising. Why? Because all the evidence of his personality points to otherwise. His unwillingness to consider somebody else's point of view - that is enough to make somebody difficult to work with. Everything will be a battle with him, and I can work that out based on what I know of his personality. It's not like I pulled it out of my ass because I have a grudge - I've seen people like him before. I used to BE like him. I still am sometimes. I know how he thinks, he's basically just an old man who never learnt to play nice and share his toys.
Bates speaks his mind. If he thinks something is stupid he'll say its stupid regardless of the consequences for that but thats not what is ultimately effecting leeds united. I havn't read anything into the recent court case so I will not discuss that. I think I've done this to death now though, I believe that your assumptions are not based on evidence rather based on your dislike for him. You may say otherwise but you won't convince me of that
Josh You have this idea that there are mass open visible protests going on and causing problems for the club. Piffle. The biggest protest is the silent one where we have lost thousands of season ticket holders year on year and people have stopped buying merchandise You don't see it because you are thousands of miles away, but neither do you acknowledge it, nor do you acknowledge that the loss of supporters and income is the responsibility of the board running the club. Just like any business it is their sole job to run it in a way that improves it year on year. They are failing badly. You just refuse to see it because you are absent and have some ideological point of view that prevents you from acknowledging the harm that is being done.
1. I don't think there is a massive amount of protest going on, I'm more talking about a lower attendance in games 2. I do acknowledge it and for me the biggest problem of Bates is ticket prices, that doesn't affect me but for me its still the biggest problem 3. I think the business is improving year on year just not enough for the satisfaction of the fans and I stand by the fact its not improving quite enough
I agree it's a problem, but how can it be the biggest problem when so many people are willing to pay them? The biggest problem about Bates .... is Bates!! Improving??? In what respect? Team performance? Squad quality? Squad potential? Profitability? Go on Einstein, educate ignorant me .....
- I am assuming you mean along the lines of when Bates said I am building a club first and a team second - Apart from the fact we had a club long before Bates arrived I will play along to the fact he has built some hospitality suites and upgrades to the ground; however business improving? Our squad value is probably lower than it has ever been, our fan base is dropping and attendance is down, world wide support is at a low, from a business point of view we are going backwards. Success on the pitch breeds the business side of things, not a fancy stand. Increased sponsorship, increased gate revenue, merchandise sales, TV revenue that then leads to exposure outside of our shores and Asian and Scandinavian type countries taking an interest and wanting to wear shirts and arrange tours, these increase the brand of Leeds Utd. No matter what you believe Josh the business side of things isn't improving and a question for you - Do you believe Bates owns the ground and Thorpe Arch and if the answer is yes how do you explain the club Leeds United paying extortionate rent for them when it is going into a company owned by the Chairman of Leeds Utd.
Apparently Paul Jewell's now claimed Pearce is signing for us when he was asked about his interest in him and Joel Ward.
I'm failing to see how the business side of things is improving. The only reason we posted an operating profit increase on the previous year was that we were back in the Championship - it was growth that could have been expected and would probably have been more had it not been for pointless developments. There's no growth at Leeds United, just sucking money and life out of the club. As for the evidence that bates is a stubborn old man with a childish mentality, then you should really read up on the court case. He is a vile man with no respect for anybody but himself. He told a Barrister - someone well educated in law and good at their job, they have to be to become a QC - to his face, that he was "being pathetic" and said that he'd "never lived in the real world". I'd say working in law is as real world as you get, you have to defend and prosecute some very unsavoury characters as well as some perfectly upstanding citizens. You can see and directly interact with the kind of people that make this world such a **** place to live in, that's more real world than bates fantasy. He's just a horrible, horrible man, I don't see how anything I've provided doesn't give me enough to assume he's awful to work with. The fact that Shaun Harvey said, in court, that he "wasn't standing here comfortably" on the knowledge that they were costing the club millions, means that he'll probably have just given in to bates desire to take it to court because he couldn't be bothered arguing with him.
