There is indeed no evidence and no suggestion that the Universe is infinite. The fact that the Universe is moving apart indicates that it is expanding and was once much smaller. There is however a theory about there being an infinite number of Universes, a Multiverse, of which we are in just one. In which case with an infinite amount of possibilities it is a certainty that there are an infinite amount of Universes which through completely random chance have developed to be exact replicas of our own Universe, with even exact replicas of me and you in it. These exact random replicas of our own Universe do not need to be in the same time as ours, they could have started a billion years earlier which would mean there was a MalteseMick sitting typing this exact same bollox a billion years ago in a Universe hundreds of billions of light years away. Also through random chance and an infinite amount of possibilities there could be slight variations on our own Universe - so there could have been a MalteseMick with flowing blonde hair and a six pack writing this exact same bollox in a different Universe billions of years ago. Oh how the mind boggles.
Mick Did you watch the What is Reality? doc on BBC4? A suggestion has been put forward that we exist as a mirror-image of ourselves, reflected from an event horizon. The mind does indeed boggle.
I don't know about a different or parallel universe but a few years ago when I first got a computer I to had a six pack and long flowing blonde hair. Now its predomitably grey and I have a barrel! Are you suggesting I have created my own universe?

Because infinity is an theoretical number rooms would be constantly appearing at a rate too fast to count. If you had infinite guests then it would be impossible for more guests to arrive because every piece of matter in the universe would be used in the creation of the existing infinite number of guests.
Infinity is a concept, but is completely impossible in practice. You could just add 1 if it was a number, which it can't be. The universe is just very very very very very very VERY large!

The only constant you can reference is your sorry arse however, if you wish to index it with places that may or may not exist then that is open to conjecture.
