If you make a half decent bid for Stewart then please take him. He's been beyond dire. It was like we were playing with 10 men in some games, I'd much rather have Josh King with us next season.
If Wednesday don't go up, I'd love us to go in for Madine too, though he's not likely to be cheap, I reckon they'd be looking for about £3m.
I really dont rate Madine. Everytime i have seen him he has looked crap, there is alot better players available for around the price you have quoted
We could still spend more but it would have to come from the club's income. For all we know, we could have a £10 million a year sponsorship deal with King Power. If you look at the accounts, turnover was increased greatly due to 'commercial revenue' which is probably due to the shirt deal with King Power. When you have that plus the stadium deal, all the other parts of the ground King Power is advertised, Singha Beer, Air Asia and then long term sponsors like Marks Electrical and Walkers then I think we'll be better off than people think.
To clear things up The owners can only put in 6M from their own pocket But if they put money into the club through King Power the business that they own then it would go thrown the books as income which allows us to spend that money. As long as at the end of the year you dont post massively losses like we have been doing then that would be fine.
Turns out listening to Stringer we can spend what the hell we like next season. These are only the guidelines and the season after again you can do what the hell you like But the season after that the rules come into play and if you fall foul of them then you can get penalised. But for the next 2 seasons these rules dont mean much. They are just guidelines for clubs
Pearson won't spend a great deal of money anyway tbh, he will buy cheaper upcoming talent, a-la Hobbs, Drinkwater, Marshall etc. I cant see his "top buy" over the summer being more than £2.5-3m.
Stewart is fantastic , never had one bad game for us. Put in a bid around 3 million and you can have him . With C . Stewart you will win the league by Christmas .
John Percy has said Pearson wants 8 players. He wants the owners to pay for 4 and he will pay for the other 4 by selling players
That sounds reasonable. So if we don't sell early, then don't expect more than 4 signings in the summer How much could we get for the guys we ship out though? Mills, £2m tops imo The IF list: Pantsil, Free-250k Beckford, £2.5m St Ledger, £2m Bamba, £3-4m King, £2.5m Tunchev, Free-250k --------------- Between £12m and £13.5m (but obviously, we dont/wont sell all of these players, personaly i'd keep Bamba, King and Beckford out of this list, that puts it down to about £4.5m) Just my opinion on prices, some players may need to be sold cheaper so that the clubs taking them will be able to afford the wages.
We better not get rid of King - read my thoughts here http://www.not606.com/showthread.php/138636-Andy-King-why-all-the-hate
Oh yeah of course, nothing against King, but these are some of the players that will prob have some interest in the summer, along with Kasper, although i would hope that it would take a whopping great bid to budge him (£5+m) after picking up POTY.
Stewart was never that good in the first place and since he came back he's been appalling. There's at least ten players I'd be more disappointed about if they left than Stewart. I really am not the slightest bit arsed if he leaves.
If King goes back to his previous form and we kept Danns, Drinky, Marshy, Gally, Wellens, Lloydy and sign a couple of wingers or one and at least a decent holding midfielder then we should have a decent midfield with good completion for places. A backup keeper and striker and a couple of defenders inc a right back and bobs yer uncle!
