Before bates it was 43000 seater. Now it's 37000 seater, but we have some shiny new boxes that nobody is using.

It's a side show, there are too many loopholes.

Leicester's owners will sponsor the team's socks for £25m a year until they get promoted.

Donny's owner will sponsor the team's training tracksuits for £10m a year.

    Etc etc

The clubs owners can only put in 3mill a year,i think this will include owner sponsorship.Think the league will clamp down more than prem league on this one.

Don't see how, Chesh. If the sponsorship was from a bona fide company, it is irrelevant who owns that company

Exactly. Theoretically if you want to invest say £10mil, you can just give youre sponsor £10mil for them to invest in your club.

Not quite - Etihad Airways' £400M sponsorship of Man City & Real Madrids sale of their training ground to the Council for 400M Euros is currently under investigation by UEFA <ok>

Ah right didnt know that <ok> but there obvious examples of bending the rules. If it was all hid behind offshore accounts and unregistered companies (sounds familiar) then it would be harder to prove

It is the ground sPonsorship stuff that provides the basis for the loophole. It may be under investigation but what will they be able to do about it? Put a cap on sponsorship totals? Prevent certain companies from being able to sponsor?

ThesE loopholes will remain or new ones will be found

I expect they will say you can only includ a certain percentage of Sposorship for turnover set against playing costs - quite simple really and probably the only way they can do it <ok> Loophole would then be said company's will then sponsor individual players thus reducing wages!

I believe that's exactly what they're doing, they're coming up with some formula to limit the amount of sponsorship you can allocate towards a playing budget.
