LG, gone but not forgotten.... O CAPTAIN! my Captain! our fearful trip is done; The ship has weather’d every rack, the prize we sought is won; The port is near, the bells I hear, the people all exulting, While follow eyes the steady keel, the vessel grim and daring: But O heart! heart! heart! O the bleeding drops of red, Where on the deck my Captain lies, Fallen cold and dead.
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2012/apr/25/chelsea-record-tv-money-windfall 45 million, jesus, just emphasises how important it is that we get back in the CL and the owners invest in us again this summer
You may not get medals but getting that sort of money and being able to watch your team in the CL is almost a medal in itself.
I don't see how, it was Chelsea's game to lose and they defended well. We, on the other hand, came out in the second half 3 nil down, the mentality and strength to overcome that was more impressive.
I see the Premier League have joined FA in protecting John Terry from the embarrassment of the pre-match handshake against QPR. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17855978 The same Premier League that said following the FA's decision to not make QPR and Chelsea players shake hands in a cup game never applied to league games as its been their policy that 'all' teams shake hands and will be implemented like it has since 2004(unless JT is involved),and we all know that they could have evaded a massive **** storm if they'd bent the rules as easily for our game at OT.
And if we say anything we're accused of being paranoid conspiracy theorists. It's amazing how they, and the media, treat the two cases so differently though. They went at Suarez, and the club, like a pack of rabid dogs but seem to tread lightly around JT. I suppose everyone is cautious about the racist accusation because it's sub judice -it'll be fascinating to see what they say when the case is over.
The FA and the Premier League actually look like racists themselves here, they hung 'johnny foreigner'(suarez)out to dry but they cosset Englishman JT.
It looks bad, but then we all know Suarez was made an example of to display their anti-racist credentials and that the Murdoch press have been looking for a reason to hang us out to dry for years. I just think with JT they might be wary of being accused of prejudicing the case. As I say, it'll be interesting to see what happens after the verdict is given.
The whole JT case is a farce saint, firstly the London Magistrates bend over backwards and adjourn his case until after the present domestic season and CL are finished and also the Euros. Even if in july hes found guilty there's a possibility he got to lift the CL trophy and/or the Euro Nations trophy with the added option of paying his 2k fine and retiring from the game before the FA get to punish him. He could of course be found innocent.<extralargewink>
