I heard there's some forums primarily made up of pro-bates fans. I've already invaded JA606 and started spreading my somewhat aggressive views, I'd like to know where else they reside. I'd heard WACCOE was full of them, but I've just signed up and they all seem to be on the ball.
I dont know Your starting to remind me of people with religious views who become very very pushy to try and make you religious. Those people annoy me, why can't people just look at the evidence and make up their own views?
Because in that instance, my decision to not buy into what they are pushing on me has absolutely no effect on their religion. People who still believe bates isn't killing the club and we should all "get behind the team, lets just wait and see what happens" are holding the club back, allowing a man who has ruined all enjoyment of supporting Leeds United for a large number of people stay in charge.
When we've gotten to this point where there's overwhelming evidence to suggest he's not, and people are still trying the whole "I reckon he'll spend this time" attitude, I feel I am well within my rights to not respect their opinion while still keeping full rights to my own opinion. When the man is pursuing a personal vendetta over a matter of a few thousand pounds that could be settled out of court, in a case he has no chance of winning, and then charging the legal fees to the club, that is evidence that he is not a very good business man and should be extracted as soon as possible. When he does thing such as deny claims of harassment in the face of undeniable evidence, then mouth off to the prosecution, insinuating that they've "never worked in the real world" (like he has?) and then calling them "pathetic" for responding appropriately... he has no chance of winning, it could have been settled out of court, what benefit does this case have to anybody other than to feed bates ego? None. That is not the right man to run the football club. He needs to go. Anybody that doesn't see that in light of that evidence, I have very good reason to question their intelligence.
I'm not getting into the argument of whether Bates is ruining Leeds United or not. The fact of the matter is that I have respect for people's opinions and whilst I will try to have a debate with them at the end of the day I will not seek out people who believe a certain thing just so I can try and change it. I hate people trying to make you believe what they believe There are overwhelming evidence to deny a lot of stuff yet people believe against that evidence. Look at scientologists, I take the piss out of them and I'm sure a lot of people do but if I ever met one I would not try and change their mind, I'd just move on. People are not stupid and they believe what they want to believe for a reason whether it be because they see it differently or they are just ignorant it doesn't matter. Raising awareness is different however, its bringing new proof or evidence to the table to which they do not already know. Its up to them to interpret it though.
Like I said, I wouldn't care if it didn't affect my life in some way. It's a case of every single person who can't see the wood for the trees gives bates reason to think that there are actually people behind him and that want him to stay, which in itself slows down the progress of getting rid of him. For the most part though I just find them insulting with their "it doesn't matter who owns us as long as we do well so stop complaining and get behind the team". It makes me sick, because we're not doing well as a direct result of poor management from the ownership, so what does it take for it to matter who owns us? Give them all the evidence you want, they just don't listen. You can conclusively prove that the man is not trust worthy and spins things to manipulate people, and some people will just ignore it and spout the "ye but he saved us" and "but he's building for the future" and countless other hollow arguments. I'm frustrated with these clowns because I feel insulted by their stupidity.
Marko, I have been watching you try & spread the good work on JA, praise the lord! They dont get it though mate. Tusc, meme, Eric & a few others just cant see it. There are however some excellent posters like Harj, Jonty & Walsall White I would like to see post over here, but I think the format puts them off. Keep up the good fight though, but dont do yourself a mischief as your fighting a lost cause!
I've got a little aggressive which makes me feel a little hypocritical, but I've gotten to the point where I don't care any more. Every single person who refuses to see the obvious is another person we could have fighting for change - not only that, but they also contribute to fuelling bates unreasonable belief that he's always right. They are enablers of a man who is ruining a big part of my life.
Try MOT Forum and Vital Leeds. Plenty of them on Facebook and Twitter too if you look in the right places. It's generally the higher-quality forums that have intelligent people who are less likely to back Bates.
Both MOT Forum and Vital Leeds appear to be anti-bates. Quick look over the latest threads on happenings other than the court case, everyone is reading into his comments the same way everyone else is, eg Beckford is a step back but Forsell isn't, we're not rushing into signings = bargain bucket at the end of august, etc etc. I saw one mention of "well if Warnock wanted Beckford I think bates would have sanctioned it so why did Warnock turn him down?". Some people can't be saved, Warnock hasn't been here for a transfer window yet. Beckford not coming back is all down to bates not wanting to commit money to a player that's worth every penny. Now he's banging them in for fun for Leicester, imagine the flood gates opening if he were to come back home.
Marko, have you tried looking in the sand, where most of the pro-Bates individuals appear to have their heads buried?
One of the LUFC facebook pages is invested with Bates arse lickers. Its a page full of absolute ****s tbh
Ken has done a lot for Leeds though, give him some credit.Saved us from extinction.and modernised the ground.
