Attack minded yes, but still Bart on the bench for me. The game is too important to not have a sub keeper, even if it is extremely unlikely (fingers crossed) that he would need to be used.
The OS match preview says that only Chaplow and Lee are out with injury. Does that mean Connolly is in contention. Would anyone give him a place on the bench as another attacking option, or considering his lengthy spell on the sidelines and probable lack of match fitness/sharpness will he miss out.
so difficult for common sense to overcome emotion for this game. Saints are playing the worst team in the division at home who have a number of injuries and suspensions too. If Nige prepares the team right (and I don't think anyone will ever say he will not!) Saints should win comfortably and we can all look forward to the fixture announcements in June!!
It's such a shame that he has been injured so much, I know he had a spell of poor form (when I think the whole team did..?)... we play at our most fluid when he is in the team. His link up play with Lambert and in particular Lallana is superb. But age is against him. Would anyone give him one more year?
NA on Skysports News, rather subdued, a bit defensive but quietly confident, no airs and graces as you would expect.
I was quite chipper about this game until I met another Saints fan. After he told me that he couldn't sleep or eat, I felt rather despondent. Then a Pompey fan said, 'We've got over relegation, just waiting for you to lose on Saturday.' Roll on final whistle on Saturday...this is a game I want to enjoy in retrospect.
Guly on the right for Chappers. No keeper on the bench extra striker on the bench Frazer in for Butters, just for the bombing on (no criticism of Butters)
I'm trying to stay as far away from anything Saints as possible until the big day. It's working so far as I'm still confident and not nervous one bit.
apart from being on here??? Tomorrow will be the toughest day for the anxious ones. Luckily i am on a customer golf day... 36 holes and then a dinner and not back home until 11 ish, so straight to be. Leaving home at 9am to get to Southamtpon in time, so no more worries. We are going up..... COYR
36 holes, wow you are going to cover some grass tomorrow. Sounds like a great way to take your mind away from the game, I'm looking forward to work, the day is too long without it this week. uts
99% of the time I'd agree. But an injury or red card to Davis on Saturday, and we're in the play-offs.
