Was curious this morning as to how many times Pardew has won Premier League MOTM with us...Turns out never...Neither did Chrissy Hughton, nor Keegan MkII nor Glen Roeder...In fact, to find our last Manager Of The Month award, you have to go all the way back to 2003 under Sir Bobby!

The only reason I looked this up, was because, speaking to people over here (in Northern Ireland) everyone has said, "if you finish top 4, Pardew HAS to get Manager of the year" ... I fully agree, but was wondering, IF we qualify for the Champions League and Pardew wins the accolade, will this be the first time ever that someone has scooped the season award without ever picking up a monthly one, is that necessarily fair or does it simply reflect badly on those who pick month by month?

Manager of the month can be a poison chalice as teams seem to go on a losing streak. Quite happy for him to not get one but he must be in contention for manager of the year.

According to wikipedia its the 2nd or 3rd week in May, so just after the Everton game on the 13th or the Champions League final on the 19th

I thought that but Owen Coyle took it...Fair enough like, 3 wins under huge pressure and coping with the Muamba incident, fair enough!

I'd be more confident of Pardew getting it if Manure win the title than if Citeh do it...Far bigger achievement, especially given the gap in points they ruined, then fought back from! George Burley won it after Ipswich finished 7th, so its not always the top 2 who are the contenders!

That was March, unless we lose to Wigan he'll get April, although Mancini might get it because Man Citeh could win the title.

He won't get manager of the year, we're not from Manchester

Aye you're right...And yeah, a win against Wigan and he has to be nailed on? (although Di Mateo will be a strong contender as well!)

There should be absolutely no contest for Manager of the Season, has to be Pardew. Everyone and his dog were tipping us for relegation and today, April 26, we sit in the Champions League places.

Actually aye good point Clarence, Bobby Manc will probably get it for April especially if City beat Man U on the 30th.

If we finish 4th yes, however otherwise surly it must go to a manager that has won something?

Last time I checked finishing 4th doesn't get you a trophy.

Either Fergie or Mancini will get it for winning the league.
Man U will have won league 20 times and Citeh first time in years, no brainer.

Exactly, so is getting into Europe via league position with a squad just about everyone had written off. Pardew MOTS hands down and that is not just me being biased.

No not really not when the aim was top ten in the first place, however it's a success for sure. I just think winning the league for Man United AGAIN despite Man City folking out ****loads will be enough for red nose AGAIN.
