He's won the codheads young player of the year award.

And is currently being gently wound up by some of his City team-mates...

Hope @conortownsend93 doesn't forget his roots after winning young codhead off the year award ! He's a tiger not a fish hope he remembers :)

thats not a bad effort considering he only signed in november/december time. I wonder how highly he is regarded by us.

Very from what i am told. Maybe he has also been keeping an eye on Liam Hearn ? 29 goals is not bad and when we have seen Lambert and La Fondra make the step up maybe a small bid and a couple of season loans to Grimsby could enable us to get him.? If we dont someone else will thats for sure.

Usually I'd like us to look to the lower leagues and pick up bargains, but at 26 and having never played for a league club I'm not so sure Hearn will ever be good enough for the Championship.

The people on Humberside who see him regularly have always said he could cut it in League 2 but anything above that would be too much of a push.

Ahead of the Forest game, the codheads summariser was saying that Hearn was definitely not a Championship quality player.

I hope this time when we've sent someone out on loan for half a season and they've won one of the POTY awards it turns out better than the last time.

I think we spotted him a while back didn't we? However, a word of caution, Devitt was a big hit across the 'Umber wasn't he? Remind me where he is destined to end up? I think the second word is 'heap'

not sure how people can make these judgements ,
Who would have thought players like Ricketts , Dawson and Ashbee could hold their own in the Prem ?

He also said City had been watching him.

Definitely. Players like these have shown so many times that you can't say who will make it in which league. But everyone still says things like "Player A is not a Championship quality." or "Player B is League 1 at best."

I have it on good authority that Hearn has signed for a football league club

Well at the right price he would be worth a go. If only to come off the bench as an impact sub.

Both had already proved themselves prolific in their respective football leagues, Hearn hasn't played a single league football match in his entire career.

So what ? Until he is given that chance we shall never know. For the right price he is worth a punt imo. 29 goals in a season is not bad and Lesta are reportedly offering £1m for Fleetwoods Luke Vardy,, ffs.

So Hearn should be offered a chance in the Championship even though he's never played in League 1 or 2?

But if someone suggested Chester should go to Everton, what wuld you say about that? Let me guess, he's not ready and he should stay here?

His name is Jamie Vardy and he's a far more talented player than Liam Hearn.

IF Chester went to Everton he would have to wait for his chance. More than likely would sit on the bench as many do. Hearn would be a good option to have off the bench but as ive said many times the price would have to be right. Maybe we can offer some more Conor Townsends to Grimsby as part of the deal.? The point being there is talent down there. How many on here have moaned about missing out on the Lamberts, La Fondras, Tubbs, Barnetts, Sinclairs etc of that world.

How many goals has Jamie(i stand corrected on that name) Vardy got then compared to Hearn ? Vardy = 31 goals and Hearn = 26 goals.

Not much betweem is there ?
