Sunderland's Seb Larsson will miss Sunderland's final three games of the 2011-12 season after undergoing surgery to repair a hernia. Larsson had the minor operation in Manchester earlier this week after being granted leave to do so by manager Martin O'Neill. The Swedish winger is hoping to represent his country at this summer's European Championships, with Sunderland agreeing to the surgery in ord...er to boost his chances of being fit for this summer's tournament. Larsson says he has been playing with the injury for a couple of weeks and has thanked his club for giving him the opportunity to undergo the procedure ahead of Sweden's pre-Euro 2012 training period. "I have had problems with groin pain for a couple of weeks now," Larsson said.

    *******

Unfortunately it looks like Elmo may end up playing the final 3 games. Hopefully he can perform. I suppose TBH Larsson has been poor for a month or so.......maybe this is the reason why?

Do you think he will be here next season as well?

    - Campbell --- Sessegnon --- McClean -

    ----------------- Wickham ---------------

'elmo can perform' No chance he's fcking useless. Only the obese geordie idiot thought he could play or picked him every week to ensure we lost and his final act paid £2 million for a player who is as much use to a football team as compo of last of the summer wine

I agree mate, I don't rate Elmo but if he plays I would support him - after all he is wearing the red n white shirt.

I remember when he first game here, Sky Sports were running a story on their site UTD and Arsenal were interested in him ha!!!!!!!

Colback at LB, and Elmo on the RW.

Why the **** have people written elmo off, but were willing to give everyone else a clean slate under MON?

What like a proper 4-4-2....with two, yes two actual strikers...

It'll never catch on............how-ever i like your thinking...I'm with you on this one.

I hope so Syd! It does look however as if we are in wind down mode. Larsson and RICO would have played if we needed them. As our season is over players may as well get any minor surgery out of the way before pre-season or Euros whatever, sensible I suppose. So Bolton get an easy ride on Saturday so it increases the chances of Villa going down!

Sess and Campbell can bamboozle Wheater by switching around at certain points. Id also like to see McClean wander over to the righ during the game if he's getting no joy out of their right back. I think he could actually be more effective from the right like Arjen Robben is vice versa with Ronaldo

This article on SAFC.com is pretty interesting. I think if I was Seb I would run through fire for MON if he asked me to. What a great manager.

It also explains Seb's lesser performances of late too as it sounds like he has been playing through the pain for quite a while. From this my guess is that Seb is one we can count on keeping over the summer. So that's 1 down 24 to go.

I do like the 4-2-3-1 especially if the two wide men in the three can really get forward with pace and score goals. With one or two players injured it gives MON a chance to experiment without reducing the strength of the side too much.

    Westwood

    Bardo O'Shea Turner, kilgallon

    Meyler Colback

    Campbell Sess McClean

    Whickham/Bendtner (half each)
