There are fifteen games left involving the 4 remaining relegation candidates, QPR, Wigan, Bolton and Villa. I looked at each fixture as disinterestedly as I possibly could and after a short period of reflection and introspection, I calmly and methodically pencilled in the result I felt was most appropriate for each fixture. I tried not to let my love for certain teams (you can guess whick one but I'm not telling) to unduly influence my selections, I just let it flow. It took me less than 50 seconds and I was amazed at how easily and instantly the results fell into place. Then, and this is the point, I REVERSED each result for each game ie if I had A beating B in my initial spread, I simply changed it to B beating A and computed those results separately. If any games were draws, they stayed as draws. When I compiled the final league placements of my initial results, the order was AV, QPR, Bolton(gone) and Wigan (gone). But here's the bizarre bit; when I compiled the final league placements with the exact opposite results the positions were the SAME!! How can that be?? Try it and you will see!!
Sounds a bit spooky twins. I'll give it a go if you put the remaining fixtures up. I'm far too laz.. I mean busy to look them up.
Just to follow on this theory... I reversed a lot of my score predictions this season, and you know what, QPR had won the league by mid March !!
Here they are......................... 28 April Sunderland v Bolton - West Brom v Villa - Wigan v Newcastle - 29 April Scum v QPR - Spurs v Blackburn - 2 May Spurs v Bolton - 6 May Villa v Spurs - Bolton v West Brom - QPR v Stoke - 7 May Blackburn v Wigan - 13 May Chelsea v Blackburn - Citeh v QPR - Norwich v Villa - Stoke v Bolton - Wigan v Wolves -
Oops pressed send too quickly. As Wolves have gone and Blackburn have the nxt lowest points can't see them overtaking both Bolton & Wigan who you suggest will both get relegated???
AAH, I didn't know that. Twins is the man. Its an interesting predictor you did old son. I'll give it a try.
I did it, and on the first round of results it was Villa, QPR, Wigan, Bolton ( gone ) Blackburn ( gone ). On the reverse it was Villa, Bolton, QPR, Blackburn ( gone ) Wigan ( gone )
Took the words out of my keyboard Nines. Drinking alone up there in tham thar hills tonight Twins mate?!!
Had I known it was Old Twinners himself I wouldn't have been quite so rude! Just did it and true enough it came out the same both ways. My order is Villa, QPR+Wigan+Bolton all on same points with Bolton down with Blackburn.
Being a newbie and all that....Who is Twins ? and whats that about living in the hills? Cue...wind ups....!
No idea. Perhaps he'll tell us sometime. I liked him as Twins though. Always pitched up with an interesting angle on things. Done it again with this thread!! Can't get used to this Cur thing though. Sounds like a cuss to call him that! (Hope that answers your question Q'lander. One of the original Rs from NW of Ireland - Sligo I think.)
