Morning all from a very wet West West London - could do with a frothy this morning to keep me going. Busy night as I baked a huge batch of sausage rolls ready for the week-end whilst listening to the Chelsea game and texting a mate who is a Chelsea fan to make sure he had not had a heart attack..I really hope that this means that DeMatteo gets the job full time now as I really like him.

Huge week-end coming up to celebrate Little Miss W_Y's 21st birthday - we have a table in the Legends on Saturday and are sponsoring the match through my mate, so the girls will be on the pitch and choosing MOM. With a 12.30 kick-off it's going to be an early start! Then saturday night we have a big party with all her uni mates, old friends from The Shire and family members attending - with just the best Soul DJ for miles on the decks.
Then Sunday we have about 40 people round on her actual birthday for a slightly quieter gathering, but I am sure will get a bit messy in evening - I have Monday off to recover!

    Speak later!

Morning All, What a horrible morning, hasn't stopped raining since the hosepipe ban came in. Still I think we need about 3 months of this until they lift it, so I'll go for the sunshine & watering can. I don't mind it raining between 12.30am and 5.30am every day to help fill the reservoirs (Generous eh)

Great result for Chelsea - showed what a thug Terry realy is, still serves him right he will miss the final and Chelsea can play with 11 men instead of just the 10 like last night. :emoticon-0100-smile

Good luck for the weekend W_Y, sounds great but expensive. Thank goodness those days are behind me (but the kids still come back to withdraw from the bank of Mum & Dad).

Another good result in the Conference last night only a 0-0 draw, hopefully Kidderminster will win at home onn Saturday and Fleetwood round off their promotion season by thrashing their visitors.:emoticon-0110-tongu

Main new today is alþíngi has sent proposals for a tunnel under Vaðlaheiði to the finance committee. Vaðlaheiði can be dangerous when there is snow.

Thanks for the coffe Ak - most welcome as usual, still raining here and very windy.

Ak I thought it was all volcanos over there. How long is the tunnel to be I'd hate to think how much it will cost.

Afternoon all. Its a damp and generally miserable day here today. Grandad is in hospital again, this time with Pneumonia. So Mum and my Step-dad are down in Watford General all day again today. The brother has school all day, sister has just left for her driving test so i have the house to myself for a while. What am i doing?? Washing up!! How sad am i!! Oh well, after this its back to finishing the dissertation so it can be bound tomorrow and handed in on friday. I cant wait to get rid of it!!!

I am not usually fussed by those sort of games, i will take them or leave them. But last night i was jumping up and down, shouting and doing what i usually do on a Saturday afternoon when Chelsea scored.

    I saw that, its brilliant!

You obviously did not hear the apology he gave to Sky Sports at HT. He said he had not intended to knee the player, but the Barca player started jogging back, then made to run forwards but checked his run, so Terry was caught off balance with his weight on his back foot and his knee came up to compensate. TWAT!!!! What utter bullshit. I hope he never plays for England again!!

I got tickets for pie and myself for Olympic footy - we're going to the men's matches at OT on 29th July. Now the draw has been done, I managed to find a copy of the full fixture list on the FIFA website (not the Olympic one) this morning and we're going to be watching Brazil v Belarus and Egypt v NZ.

You may not see as many big names as at other matches, but you will undoubtedly see plenty of goals then

Afternoon all, rather late in arriving for my coffee but a quick blast in the microwave will restore it to normal temperature. ;)

Wet and windy again today. Managed a quick tour of the estate between showers and found that some animal has been trying to dig up my potatoes. The footprints are rather different to the usual ones left behing by the deer, so I wonder if it is the wild boar or the fox that I have seen within 50 metres of the house recently. I suspect the later as boar tends to root around more and can make a right mess of a piece of ground. :(

Not really Barry. All I know at the moment is that Ryan Nelson, of Spurs, will be the captain. Football has a very low profile here. Marco Rojas is good, by NZ standards. He plays for Melbourne Victory in the A League. Other full internationals likely to play are Kosta Barbourouses, Tommy Smith and Jake Gleeson. Apart from that there is a local lad to me, Greg Draper, who now plays for TNS. I've not heard of the rest of them. Most play in the North Island or for US college teams.

Their record in qualifying doesn't give one confidence. They beat PNG and Fiji 1-0, Vanuatu 3-2, and Tonga 10-0. None of the 'big' names played in those games. though.

Down to penalties in Madrid. Not quite sure how Bayern lasted in the face of Spanish theatrics.

Special One obviously doesn't include penalty practice in his training - missed their first two <laugh>
