Nicklas Bendtner has revealed he is unlikely to remain with Sunderland - even if the opportunity arises. Bendtner, 24, is currently on a season-long loan with the Black Cats from Arsenal where he has scored seven goals. A decision on the Denmark international's future has not been made by Martin O'Neil, who is aware he needs to strengthen his striking options. Bendtner, though, could take the decision out of the manager's hands as he looks for pastures new. Opportunity "Never say never about Sunderland, but it is not certain that I will be here if the opportunity arises," he told www.Sporten.tv2.dk. "About Arsenal, I obviously have to have a chat with the club about it [the future], but it's not there that the first priority is going to be. I think I have been fairly clear about it." Bendtner was signed by Steve Bruce, who had previously worked with him at Birmingham. The change of manager and the nasty facial injury he suffered during his time on Wearside has not dented his enjoyment at Sunderland. "It's been great to come up here and get games," he added. "It's different than what I was used to at Arsenal, but it's been a good period for me."
Yeah, I just don't see he being here next season, neither the player or manager have really been saying much to make anyone thing a deal will be done....There has been lots of wait and see and who knows what happens in football etc so its not going to happen. I do actually think he has talent and we have been much worse as a unit this year when he has not been in the team so I am relaxed either way, I think it would be good to see him stay for around £4 mill, if not then we move on and let MON do his thing.
Never been his biggest fan before us or during his time with us, he has shown some talent but, not enough for me anyway to warrant a transfer. There are much better out there we can look at.
I think he is getting in there first so that when he is not offered a contract he can say he did not want to sign anyway.
if he doesnt want to be here we shouldnt even offer him a chance. should think himself lucky to get a chance to play for us. no way should we even think of offering him a contract. as said he is just getting his excuses in first as he knows hes not good enough
But he's a Champions League level striker In all honesty I think he is a MON type player. if he can get him playing as a proper striker on the centre half then I think MON would definitely want him, whether Bendtner is interested or not.
Its a no for me. While he is technically good with the ball, he is a shocking striker. How many did he miss against Villa? The fact we have not scored in 4 games tell the story - its a no brainer for me. We need a better striker or two...
Funny you should say that.................... On fancast there's a list of the top 10 premiership whiners and not surprisingly, he's in there
TOtally agree Newton - I personally don't even think he should be playing now we are safe if his attitude is that he won't sign even if we offer him a contract - we need players playing who WANT to be here and want to do it for us
