Its about time now that we should name our stands, all 4 of them instead of calling them north,south ,east or west...who or what would fellow jacks/jackies call each stand and why?....
i would name one stand the Mel Charles stand in recognition of the work he did to save our club. i think its a fitting tribute for a great ex player and a life long swansea fan...
The "this stand is premier league and cardiffs isn't stand"? On a serious note, agree with the Mel comment.
What about the Huw Jenkins Stand, Dai? Not sure about this to be honest. If Rodgers stays with us for 10 years and we go on to greater glory then that would seem appropriate. I quite like the Mel Nurse idea though.
The east stand could be the Tawe bank as its right by the river ? The west stand could be the posh bank as it costs the most to get in and the flash boys in thier boxes reside there ? The north - the passport end for the away lot ? The south - the Dougie Sharpe end
Tawe stand is a good one, i dont want to see a mcdonalds stand or anything like that unless they pay a vast sum every season for the privilege....
As long Dragon phil jack doesnt get to name them! oherwise we will end up with Fabio Borini stand and the Stephen Dobbie stand ...
What a great idea, the mel one is class but don't forget we share the ground so it would fair to have rugby related name for one of them
What about naming one the ivor allchurch stand, robbie James stand maybe and on a lighter note jack & beanstalk
Mel Charles ! Dai, do you mean Mel Nurse ? He's the one who put the cash up. If it was up to me I'd give the North stand a Welsh name just to confuse the visiting fans, one could be the Premier stand (eg West), I would call the East stand "The North Bank" seeing as we all sing about the North Bank anyway and the South stand we could name after someone like Ivor, Robbie or Mel or even call it the Vetch Stand.
good shout vetch stand. thats a fair point valley so in fairness maybe the rugby boys should be included but should we be able to buy the stadium in the future then we can lend them a couple of stands . mel nurse was involved dill but it was mel charles and his consortium that managed to save the club.... the Ivor Allchurch stand is a good name as well.
So it looks like "The Vetch Stand" would go down quite well then. Good thread too Dai, about time it was brought up, let's hope the club follow suit.
shall we say the vetch stand as the most popular stand for one of them and go onto stand no2, dont forget to name the tunnel too.....
