This is not really about whether your tactics were effective or not, just that the style of play was ugly to watch. It's understandable that you're happy with the result, but for many neutrals watching it wasn't a good game. I want my footie to be entertaining. I just don't like negative, win-at-all-costs games. I didn't like the way we played the second half at City btw, and said so at the time.
I actually think it was a fantastic game for the neutral. Not the sort of game you want to watch every week maybe but something a bit different, 4 goals, loads of talking points, disallowed goal, sending off, big comeback. What more do you want?!?!?
Mate, i've read a few of your posts, mostly on the Chelsea board, and you should really give it a rest, you couldn't sound more bitter and twisted. Liverpool won the competition . . . on penalties . . . and the league Cup against Cardiff . . . . and the FA Cup against West Ham . . . . didn't those teams have to miss at least one penalty too, even if Liverpool scored all theirs ?
Not sure why we are acting like we have never done the same before to get through. You get through, that is the name of the game. On a footballing defensive level, Chelsea were very very good last night. Some of the work that was put in is what you expect of players being paid ransom type money. It will be an interesting final, especially if it is Jose and Real as that will have that extra spark about it. Again, for me, this is just too similar to 2005 with us.
Where on earth are you going talking about other teams tactics? You really are just digging a deeper hole for yourself and that other chelsea eeejit tagging along with you. Chelsea won last night celebrate that, but dont try giving us the bollox about tactics or deserving it.
I hate people like this... You call anything you don't like "anti-football". Chelsea got through two legs! They got the result they needed without 11 players against what people call "the best side in the world". They used brains and a defensive based tactic to defeat Barcelona! And to be honest after two legs they pretty much deserved to win (after all how many legs do they need to win before we give them credit!). I (supporting an English team in the competition) also loved yesterdays match; It had a great deal of excitement and nail biting moments as well as moments when i furiously shouted down the TV (particularly at John Terry or Sergio "Cheese and" Busquets). I personally prefer my football matches tense like this in comparison to matches where teams pass each other off the park but play very anti-end to end. There is more than one way to play football; Anti-football does not exist! And anyone saying otherwise is a fool.
Know what you are saying but I don't remeber a round quite like chelsea just had. I also dont remember anyone in the media fawning over our tactics. Still think it is their year though and rightly so in some ways as they have had some bad luck in past seasons CL.
When have the media liked anything we did??? Well, at least JT won't be there to miss a PK! Look on the bright side right? It will be sweet if Chelsea won the CL and knocked Tottenham out of 4th ( if they get it) and cruel if they knock Newcastle out for me!
I dont think anti football won. I despise Chelsea as much as the next Liverpool fan but they defended well and Barca wasted a lot of clear chances over the two legs so they only have themselves to blame. Barca can at least say they accepted defeat like men and didnt bitch like girls after the game.
Imagine the wumming on the chelsea and spurs board if that happens, still it might keep them off here for a while. I actually feel a bit sorry for terry although I feel he deserved a red, missing the final is harsh coming after that penalty slip.
Watch the replay dickhead, clear contact. Definetely a penalty, drogba should have been booked. Cech was off his line before the penalty was taken, it should have been retaken and Cech booked. Watch the replay moron before spouting your crap.
I will say this as my only kind of compalint, or rather my grief with Chelsea from last night, was the **** that was coming out of JT's mouth about it was an accident, he didn't mean to do it, Sanchez darted around me and I was defending myself. No, you got tired of the flopping, lined him up and kneed him from behind. Just JT's zizou moment I guess. Btw, why is no one talking about the ****ing quality of Ramirez goal? What cheek and a deft finish from him!
JT will probably try the same excuse at his court case in June. "Sorry gov', I said b**** c*** by accident"
My friend..you 're far away in America, have you been looking at the table?.Tothenham are not going to get a sniff of 4th place.
Barcelona's tactics were all wrong. Chelsea were right. I admit I didnt see the whole game, but what I did see was at a time when Barca needed to score. But what I did see consisted of Barcelona in possession around the edge of the box, constantly passing it side ways. Chelsea lost two defenders early on, were down to ten men and Barcelona failed to take advantage. They should have played all guns blazing, but decided to stick to slow, patient build up play. I saw well done Chelsea.
