Have to agree with you there mate, even Mascherano is a better CB. Although I think Valdez is nothing special, probably Spain's 4th best goalkeeper max?

He hasn't been convincing in the last week, for sure. But I think he's pretty good. Maybe not Casillas/Pepe standard but better than De Gea all round at the moment. Thing with him though is that he has a much harder job compared to other keepers because he'll have **** all to do in games but any chances Barca do concede are clear cut ones because they've committed so many men forward for their attacks.

It would not be to the advantage of Chelsea to play Real Madrid in the final. So I want Bayern Munich to go through.<ok>

are you kidding me, Chelsea were not even involved in that semi, Barca threw themselves out.

If real get to the final all we can expect from chelsea is the same crap football and terrible performance all over again with Drigs lyting on th eground again.

Chelsea were a fkn joke over two legs and yet somehow to the detriment of the sport got through.

It was not tactics, it was 10 men occupying 10 yards of pitch for 65 minutes not tactics not skill just lucky that Barca failed to covert bags of chances>

If Bayern get to the final chelsea may just have the balls to come out and play a game of football, surely they cannot be let off in the final as they have been over the last two games, chelsea, terrible ad for football, sh!t team

At this stage medal is the one that matters. With all the skills of Barcelona nothing to show for it.Most people will always remember the winner.<ok>

Yep, either way, only chelsea fans will remember this team, noone else thats for sure.

I have no problem with results mattering. Thats the bottom line.

What is funny is the complete lies surrounding their performance. They were fkn sh!t and gave up many chances even though they played no football, its one thing to sacrifice footy to keep em out but they didn't even remotely.

They were sh!t over two legs.

What pished me off really is that now this sh!te is seen as some blueprint to play Barca, when they ripped chelsea apart and luck and luck alone got them through

I have nothing against chelsea, and I'd not be too unhappy to see them rub it in the face of Spuds fans and mancs.

I think last night annoyed me because it reminded me of our season on the whole, chances chances misses misses

Fair play to Chelsea - they did the 'impossible' and with 10 men and it was a very good result for them.

But to defend for 180 minutes and park the bus like they did - they won't be getting much praise from me.

Why are you bringing Busquets into it? Last time I checked, he wasn't in their back 4.
And for Barcelona, read Spain. They do most of their defensive work through attack. Puyol and Pique are rarely, if ever, exposed to attackers.
The best defensive team in international football (if you're going by their actual defensive ability rather than clean sheets) at this moment in time is probably Germany.
Chelsea did next to **** all attacking last night or last week, but scored pretty much every time they did. Wouldn't you be disappointed with your defence if the opposition did that against you? 4 shots on target (1 from half way) and 3 goals. That's terrible.
And the point wasn't to be taken so literally. Clearly Puyol and Pique are better than what Fulham have to offer. What I should have said was that they wouldn't look half as good should they be playing for a team without 8 quality players in front of them. Would you take either over Skrtel/Agger? I think the latter would look just as good for Barcelona as Puyol and Pique.

btw, by 'back 5' I was including Valdes, not Busquets.

Had they scored the penalty it would've been an easy 3-1 win, maybe even more with Chelsea having to come out of the back and trying to grab a goal.

And exactly the same has been happening to Johnson, Skrtel, Agger & Enrique this season. We've dominated games only to concede from the one of two or three chances we concede all game. That doesn't make Agger/Skrtel ****.

The bottom line is nobody cares about your **** team and fans. You lot are the worst kind of plastics who whine and moan about anyone else who has any sort of success. As for slagging us off because of the actions of a minority is ridiculous, especially after the actions of some of your plastics.

can any of you lads enlighten me with this conundrum...?

when you won the CL...and became the 5th English qualifier...did you have to ply a qualifier?

    Yes, 1st, 2nd and 3rd round.

There was no playoff round back then though.

And it won't happen again, there are only 4 teams allowed from each country now, so the 4th placed team will just get Europa league.

Would be so harsh on Newcastle if they missed out on a CL place if Chelsea win it.
