I have just become the proud owner of a 42" 3d TV (Already have Sky so have now got the 3d malarky as well!) Anyone got any experience with them - I'm more bothered about the HDTV than the 3D but as the price was right decided to go for the 3d! Will be watching the Citeh vs United match on Monday Night in 3d - just wanted to know peoples thoughts on them
I think the 3D is ****ing horrible on a TV, the screen is too small, it feels like you're cross eyed the whole time. 3D's good on cinema screens but I don't like it on TV. The HD quality of 3D TV's is incredible though, the picture is so much sharper than on a normal HDTV for some reason.
I think 3D is hit and kiss, but when it's good it is truly awesome. HDtv still staggers me to this day, I find myself watching wildlife programmes just to see it at its very best! You did right to go for 3D, because sky are pumping money into it, and it will be incredible. Some of the movies are fantastic, the ones that were made for 3D rather than converted, you'll find yourself jumping out of the way of shot! Finish it off with a good surround system, and enjoy!
Got a Samsung 3D TV and it's brilliant, not that many movies available yet, unless you like watching kids movies and then it's great. Can't get away with the footy in 3D,much prefer to watch it in HD and as MonsMush says, pair it with a good surround system and crank up the vollers.
have you got one with active (heavy, cost a lot) or inactive (like the ones at the cinema) 3D system? I have used the inactive ones before and it bloody excellent when done properly, can be **** though if its just a cheap conversion.
Yes, seen it and its is ****ing awful. girl on girl might be better, but when the bloke turned round I had to fight an urge to jump behind the chair.... the solo girl scene was also pretty poor, I felt like I was going to get kicked in the head by her high heels.
Recorded and watched the El Classico last night and it was pretty good - you're right about the HD mind - it's ****ing brilliant - even better than on my HDTV I had before this one!! Am loving this now like
Its the LED technology that make a difference. Wait till OLED tech makes it to the mainstream (LG will launch 1st one in may for 8k, 4mm thick and twice as good as normal LED)
Absoultely mate - that looks amazing the LG one but at £8000 it's a bit out of my price range!! Mine was less than a 15th of that (You're right about LED too!)
Yeah, thats why I said wait until it becomes mainstream. If I had 8k, I would be buying a car or a luxury holiday (private villa, tropical island etc).
It's funny, but TV's , stereo's etc are now part of the furniture ain't they. Yeah, you want the functionality etc, but you want the thing to look good too, not like the boxey **** we used to have. I always buy Samsung TV's, I know there are better on the market, and I know there are one's just as good, cheaper, but I think they look class, and the specs are high enough to be excellent!
